Just collected the book from Waterstones. It's huge it's a book for 2 people to read ha ha . It's unbelievable that it takes us only up to 1962, which for a lot of people is where the Beatles amazing story begins. I particularly like the quote at the top of the back cover. "Here is The Beatles story as it really was. Throw away what you think you know and start afresh. I love learning new Beatles facts.

I'm a bit of a voracious reader and finished the book in 2 weeks. By the time 2020 come I'll have forgotten who the Beatles are. I really thought at the time he'd have held back Book one until Book two was finished and he had a good start on Book three. The we could have got one a year instead of one every seven years.
Anyway, I loved it. Actually read it 3 times.

Of course i'm handicapped by being an habitual "jazz cigarette "smoker ha ha. I get the impression that i'll be a little sad to finish the book as it finishes just when things are about to take off for the band so i'll be super keen on wanting the next episode to begin with the 2nd book in the trilogy. I had this feeling when watching the wonderful Anthologies on dvd, i tended to watch 2 episodes in a row as one episode would leave you wanting more knowing their story was about to reach even more incredible heights. If i remember correctly one episode ended with them touching down in America, the rest, as they say is history.

I saw the Anthology on TV in '95 and HAD to wait to see the next episode. But the "New Beatles Song in.....seconds" was exciting.

I've just posted this wonderful interview on the Kate Bush forum(we have a Beatles section). So fascinating , luckily it's another quiet day at work so was able to listen to it all just now. I would have loved to have joined them after the discussion to carry it on as they planned with the others in the studio. I never tire of talking about the Beatles to like minded people.

I'm waiting impatiently for the 2nd book. Like he indicated, we're not getting any younger. I guess I'll have to read vol. 1 again.

WoW sometime in 2023 now! and I thought when vol. 1 came out and he said 2020 for the next volume was a long time, now this! But he did say he started writing vol. 1 in 2003 and it was done and came out in 2013 so I guess this is the norm, 10 years. I just hope I'm around in 2033 for vol. 3! Also these books are taking longer to write than it did for the Beatles to live them.
