He did a great job ! The Bass and Drum duet at the end of 5.15 was quality . Have to say though the atmosphere was electric , the people of Liverpool know how to party . (But Ive have always known that ) Oh . And Quadrophenia The Movie is out on Blue Ray Sunny and it`s now on 2 for a tenner offer .

Tomorrow night (Friday) on BBC 4 - the making of Tommy. I think this is new. Followed by Tommy the movie and then Quadrophenia: Can You See The Real Me.

I've been anxiously awaiting November...Not only is The Beatles BBB 2 coming in the mail, but the Super Deluxe TOMMY album as well. I would get excited about getting my Frank Zappa ROXY BY PROXY cd in the mail soon, but Gail/Barfko Swill keep changing the release/shipping date. They claim it'll be the 15th of November now, but I'll believe it when I get it.
Anyone else go for the huge TOMMY boxed set? I have the huge QUADROPHENIA box, and I am very satisfied with that...
Good month for us old folk!!

Just got "Who's Missing/Two's Missing" (Japan Polydor) and I am so confused!! It's easier to determine the origins of Beatles' recordings. How the hell many versions of "Lubie (Come Back Home)" exist? Or for that matter "I'm Leaving Here"?

Sad loss but he was never going to live a long life. Have you read the biography Dear Boy? It's a must read.

So Mr Kite.....what did you make of The Who last night? Any guitar throwing last night?? No guitar throwing . Yeh ! Bloody brilliant !!! (cracking seat ! ) How on earth do those old geezers still play like that ?! Where do you start with that Set ? A few songs that I`ve not heard live before Join Together , Slip Kid , A Quick One . My fav section of the night was without doubt the Tommy section And does`nt Zak look more like is dad now , even with red hair ! Your thoughts Musty ?

My fav section of the night was without doubt the Tommy section And does`nt Zak look more like is dad now , even with red hair ! Your thoughts Musty ? Yes, great show. So many high points. Although I've seen them do it before, when they play along with Keith Moon singing Bell Boy and then Daltrey 'takes' the mic off Moon after he finishes is a touching moment. Entwistle's bass solo in 5.15 with Zak playing along with him. The only downside is that it highlights what a difference Entwistle's made to The Who's sound. Pino Pallidino is a fantastic bass player but not allowed the prominence anywhere near to Entwistle. Zak on the other hand is allowed free reign. Odd that! It's amazing what Simon Townshend contributes; a hell of a lot of singing and guitar playing! Live Reign O'er Me was a real highlight for me as was I'm One. I found it very odd they have hardly been doing My Generation on the tour much.
