rodger(pearcing blue eyes) had soooooo much energy at the london gig,as did pete.they were amazing.hard to believe on the night that they had been going 4 decades.!!!! supporting act was joe strummer(clash)now also sadly passed away. Kenney Jones had already taken over the helm on drums after Keith died in 1978, Kenney was not a bad drummer at all for THE WHO. I saw THE WHO twice at the Oakland Coliseum in Oakland, California on 19 & 20 Apriil 1980. I thought that Kenney was great!

I thought Kenny was fine. I didn't like Simon Phillips.

Yes!!! It's just too bad that he was busy with Oasis when The Who did Endless Wire. If I were Zak, I would've wanted to be in on that because it will probably be the Last Who album.

Ringo said that Zak had no interest in his dad's band as a kid. His favorite group was The Who

I don't think it bothered him. Him and Keith were drinkin' buddies for a while.

They should've included "Pure And Easy" on Who's Next. That would have definitely made the WHO'S NEXT album better, its a great album now! Pure and Easy is on the deluxe reissue of Who's Next. It's never really done anything for me this song and in my humble opinion doesn't add too the album - hence may be why they left it off the original release.

I was thinking in terms of the "concept" such as it is and the fact that I love musicals and recurring musical leitmotifs that tie the entire project together, And that " there once was a note..," bit that appears in "The song is over" makes me all warm inside because it comes from the other song etc etc...

I do own the deluxe issue of WHO'S NEXT, I love the whole album and the addition of "Pure And Easy." Then again, I love every song that THE WHO has ever recorded. Take care mrmustard.

Kenny Jones is a great drummer but I think he was terrible for The Who. Daltrey thought this too. He was too safe where the Who needed something dangerous going on behind the drums to the point were you think it's all about to fall apart but never does. I agree, Zak is perfect for the Who,

Hi BeatlesForever. I guess it's just more to do with the fact that I had listened to the original album for so long that the thought of adding something to an already perfect album seemed wrong. I particularly like 'Love Aint For Keeping.'

I particularly like 'Love Aint For Keeping.' Hi mrmustard! How are you? Happy New Year! I do understand what you mean, I myself believe that the WHO'S NEXT album is a great album AS IS! I love the whole album, especially "Bargain," "Love Ain't For Keepin'," "Goin Mobile," "Behind Blue Eyes"and "Won't Get Fooled Again" just to name a few. Other than the Deluxe CD Edition, do you own the WHO'S NEXT album in the MCA 24 Karat Gold Ultimate Master Disc CD Edition (MCAD - 11312) as well as the Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab (MFSL) Original Master Recording 24 Karat Gold CD Edition (UDCD 754)? Both of these CD Editions have the ultimate sound quality which adds new life to the WHO'S NEXT album. In my opinion, with the MFSL release, you will hear the WHO'S NEXT album as it was truly intended to be heard. Take care mrmustard.

Thanks Mr Kite. Didn't know about that. I've recorded them too. I find Quadrophenia uncomfortable viewing myself.
