Thank You for the comments Anywho , next up A new one and also my first venture into the man who is so good you will know his name more than his Music Kurt Vile This is with Courtney Barnett Lotta Sea Lice - Courtney Barnett - Kurt Vile I got half way through the album ( to be fair the first track kinda had me twitching ) and I was thinking Is this the album the has been getting rave reviews all over the place ! The Loud And Quiet magazine gave it 9/10 With quotes like " Vile has always employed a raw vintage Americana and Barnett`s world weary dead pan delivery is a masterstroke " Well they got the weary right . From the off the vocals are absolutely dreadful and indeed weary To be fair the Music is very good , but the singing by both artists is just painful "Everything sounds so gorgeous " Says The Loud And Quiet I really do start to believe that it seems that the artist in some fields are untouchable Best track ? I hate to think that is possible The worst track Blue Cheese ? or is it just me 261 Next up , Bob`s new one

Well some say Bob and some say Rob .... My mate is called Robert and he hated being called Bob , but I just could`nt help it ..
Carry Fire - Robert Plant
This is his 11th Solo Studio outing I thought it was a lot more
The album .
As the last one really with the feel of side two of Led Zep 3 and it`s folkie ways and a few of the songs with it`s filthy eastern ways ...
His voice just sounds as good as ever really but the songs don`t really get your attention straight off the bat The man obviously still loves what he`s doing and with a Tour planned with the album he really must think this is a worthy album Not his best , but not his worst and maybe a few more play`s it will be a grower A nice duet with Chrissie Hind on Bluebirds Over The Mountain is prob the best track
260 . Next Up A bit of Classic Rod Stewart

I love Carry Fire and bought it last week. Highlights the title track and the rockabilly sound of Bones of Saints. Still think Shaking and Stirred is a bonkers Lp though even all these years on.

Shaken And Stirred ! Never liked that one I think I`ll give it a spin , and give my honest on it Never A Dull Moment - Rod Stewart Have I done Rod before ? If not ! Why Not ! This album is one that passed me by back in the 70`s when I was a big fan So much I went to see him at Belle Vue Manchester , Kings Hall in 79 ! This is Rods 4th Solo album And when I look at his stuff from 68 to 75 , the man was on full throttle ! The album seems a bit "rushed" if I was someone who knows his stuff , which I don`t as I did`nt know Rod and he did`nt reply to my letters 4 classic covers with the evergreen I`d Rather Go Blind and a wonderful version of Hendrix`s Angel the rest are mostly wrote by Rod and Ronnie Wood Best Track You Wear It Well Glorious ! Not a great album , but it`s ok and when you like me think that Every Picture Tells A Story L.p. as one of the finest albums in Rock Rod was never going to top that , but as I said he was firing stuff out that much at that time as guess a few got passed quality control 259

Every Picture Tells a Story was indeed a great album. My neighbor had let me borrow his copies of Rod's first two albums, The Rod Stewart Album and Gasoline Alley. They were good too and both much better than Never a Dull Moment. It appeared to me that Stewart was really good until he got famous. Just my opinion.

Remain In Light - Talking Heads
Love Talking Heads and I think this is a album that seems to get passed by when it comes to classics My first musical experience of the Heads was I guess with most people when Once In A Lifetime hit the charts in 1981 ! The album was released back in October 1980 , so by then it was , I guess already out of the charts With most albums from the 80`s they now seem flat in sound , but this album seems to escape that ... Manufactured naffness ! So I bought the single and that was the start with my long time love of Byrne and the band
The band were a 4 piece Art Punk band and with the brilliant 77 I guess they had to find another "sound " Enter Brian Eno and when that mans about you will get lots of keyboards In fact Eno and every member of the band play keyboards ! Plus Adrian Belew who really pushes the boat out with a fabulous Guitar rift on the Great Curve
Once In A Lifetime What a breath of fresh air this song was at the time when we were bombarded by New Romantic and all that other dreary chart pop Bryne from the off has you transfixed on his vocals and telling us that there is water under the water Nope I have no idea but it always had me thinking that what ever he`s on I want some
Houses In Motion and Seen And Not Seen If you have heard King Crimsons Discipline which came out late on in 1981 you would think these tracks were the bed rock for the whole album Were Crimson influenced by The Heads ?! Did Belew who joined Crimson told them he`d seen the future and they were called Talking Heads !
Such a fantastic album and it doe`s have Eno`s footprint on it to be sure , but lets not forget that David Byrne was one on his own when it came to song writing , he really is a genius in my humble
Eno and Byrne went on to do an album together which would also be a great unknown classic Life In The Bush Of Ghosts
Best Track ( Once In A Lifetime Not Included ) Crosseyed And Painless

Who`s Next - The WhoIt`s scary but I first heard this album 40 years ago After football it was back to my school friends mates house and we went to his bedroom and stuck on Who`s Next And 40 years on it just sounds as brilliant as it did then What can you say about this album that has`nt been said already ? The Who at there peek ? Without doubt From 68 to 75 I think they gave Led Zepp a run for the best Rock band in the universe So , what makes it a great album ? Well, the whole album is just a perfect 40 minute album that just is perfect Even maybe the weakest track My Wife still is a track that was so good they opened up with it on their Tours Baba O` Riley and Wont Get Fooled Again must be up there with the greatest Rocks tracks of all time Bargain and Behind Blue Eyes are not far behind either ! Just a 11/10 album and I envy anyone who hears this for the first time as I really did`nt appreciate it enough ! One thing before I go The Deluxe Ed. is a must as you really get more brillaint stuff and my fav Who Song Naked Eye . Apparently this almost made the Album cover ! 257.

Who’s Next is a fantastic album. Every track a great one. I’ve always liked Love Ain’t For Keeping. However Quadrophenia takes it for me as best Who album.

I hadn't paid as much attention to The Who's lyrics as i had. I was very pleasantly surprised when i checked out My Wife's lyrics, clever and quite funny. All four member were great but Entwisstle was overlooked for many years with interviewers mainly dealing with Townsend.

Entwistle was definitely overlooked as a songwriter. Townsend asked him to write Cousin Kevin and Fiddle About for Tommy. Very dark lyrics but fitted the story of Tommy perfectly.

I shall do a few more all timers as it seemed to get a few posts going on the last one Which is want we want ! Debate , irate and all the other things that make for a bit of banter and interesting anecdotes Went for a bit of newish Prog this afternoon 4626 - Comfortzone - Beardfish ( 2015)This is for sure a Proggers Prog album Very long and the album seemed concept It was pretty good from the off , but as in most cases with Prog albums it faded into the ethos of clever stuff The "Title" track is a great tune though almost a nod to King Crimson Maybe after a few plays I guess it would make more sense Best Track ! 256

Bookends - Simon & Garfunkel
Just thought I`d do a album I`ve had for ever but never play it all the way through So I now have and , it has that skip feel about it Starts off with a wonderful acoustic piece , Bookends Theme and then jolts you into Save the life of a child Which just doe`snt fit the rest of the album for me Old Friends , Hazy Shade Of Winter , Mr`s Robinson save the album from being a bargain basement album Just could have been so much better .. Best track America A Simon masterpiece

Native Invader - Tori Amos ( 2017 )
Do you remember when Tori came on the Music scene way back when ? " The new Kate Bush !" and all that goings on Well if you were like me Tight, and had a Library card then you could go to your local and take Cd`s out and copy them and give them a listen Well Tori was my library artist And I never really got into her in a big way , then again I never really did`nt dislike what she did But now that all the Library`s are shut and Downloading has taken over and even better You Tube You can get to hear your "Library artists So the new Tori Put on headphones ... 3 songs in fell asleep A few days later ... Put on Tori Headphones again About 6 songs in , fell asleep
I`ll leave you with that thought

Got out the classics again
Tubular Bells - Mike Oldfield
One of the greatest pieces of Music in the history of mankind When I end up in a conversation about music and I get to this joyous thing that was brought to us in 1973 and still sounds as mind blowing beautiful as it did then when I heard it on 8 Track And a punter says " I`ve never heard it " My heart sinks . Where else can you learn as a 11 year old what a Spanish guitar or a mandolin sounds like .

Graceland - Paul Simon
I will never forget the year this came out 1986 I`d been made redundant in Thatchers reign for a second time Music had really hit the bottom of a very bottomless pit Anita Dobson was in the charts .. I`ve no need to go on do I ?
Then , in a gloomy cloudy vultures circling overhead day in those dark dark days , I went out with my last couple of quid from my dole money and wandered into town Went to to the other record shop in Hyde ( No, not the Music Center , the other one ) And saw the strange looking cover and the name Paul Simon With the money I had I bought it , I may be skint for the rest of the week , but hell with it Paul Simon It brought my faith back in Music
