A Night At The Opera - Queen Well . Apart from the obvious Bohemian Rhapsody I would be saying that is no way a Rock album In fact I now see why in hindsight that Queen were never held in the high esteem in those wonderful middle 70`s with the likes of Zep , Purple , The Who , Floyd and Rush It had not only one but two queasy songs with the 30`s cha cha cha songs I would really love to know what the thinking was with these songs along side Bohemian Yes, diversity I can here you say reader , but with the album before with Sheer Heart Attack they had one of those queasy on that When I think of it I can see why I never took them seriously in my later teens As for the 80`s Queen Well , If it was`nt for Live Aid Queen may have been another fatality in the black hole of Rock in the 80`s never to be heard again Tomorrow I`m going to have to go with 2 albums as I`m at the Match tuesday . What ? I don`t know . I shall ponder Any Queen fans out there ? 357

Queen. Yes. Just a casual fan of their coolest songs really.
Two albums. Love & ROCKETS - Seventh Dream of Teenage Heaven Echo & the Bunnymen - Porcupine
They're both under 40 minutes and they're fab.

6 Music played Hunky Dory in full on vinyl last night (which listeners had voted as their favourite Bowie Lp.) It sounded mesmerising over the radio and loved how Gideon Coe only spoke when he turned the record over.

Oooooooo. Gentle Giant. I don't mind them but I find they're a bit too much like math teachers making solving math problems fun.

Gentle Giant . Yes I do have them . Well my task of an album yesterday went pair shaped as I had put my I pod down (slept) and got up the next morning totally forgot where . So I need to do 2 today But . ! I`ve just done one and I`ll try for 2 tomorrow . The trial of this Blog eh ! So then I did a Amadeus Recommendation Porcupine - Echo And The Bunnymen Now I confess I did delve into them in the middle 80`s as I was getting very desperate for good new Music and I bought Ocean Rain It was alright Did`nt go anywhere after that . So this one was the one before and you can tell The Cutter though is a cracker and then you get almost average 3 minute jingly jangly pop songs for the rest of the album Not a patch on Ocean Rain which they seem to go with better produced songs if I rightly remember Funny though Looking (Or should that be hearing?) back I can now see why I struggled get into those kinda bands Apart from U2 and R.E.M. I still carved for the 70`s Rock bands that blew my mind in my later teenage years . Tomorrow another 80`s band Love & Rockets and something else ( no not Gentle Giant ) 355

Ah well. Echo & the Bunnymen was in my teen years. Anyway Seventh Dream is an interesting record. But I was 17 for that one. Enjoy.

Erm . Yeh I was a bit older and stubborn when the 80`s kicked in As it`s well know for my dislike of 80`s Music I`ve been willing to a point* to give albums a go on this here thingy
Seventh Dream Of Teenage Heaven - Love & Rockets
Once again it did`nt take long before I was itching to turn it off I did`nt If anything this seemed to be a poor man`s Echo The Vocal`s were as it felt liked all double tracked and for the lyrics , they seemed also double tracked if that makes any sense Sounded almost like P.W.E.I. a poor mans Almost like school band songs in my humble , it really shows how 80`s Music fell away in the late 80`s jingly jangly 5 minute songs became very hard worked for me and as before with the Echo album Very dull 80`s music
I`m still an album behind as I`ve had a heck of a week , but I will put it right this weekend for sure .
354 .
* No way Smiths ! And God bless my mother and father for having a family sooner than later

OW! OW! OMG. Well I loved all that stuff. I guess that's why when the 90s rolled around I couldn't see the big deal about Hootie and the Blowfish and the Spin Doctors.

A Secret Wish - Propaganda.
Mam bought me this LP. Beautiful lush and at times creepy in it's atmosphere.
Stand out track's
Dr Mabuse * Neu meets Edgar Allen Poe Duel * Full on pop loveliness The Murder of Love * Glamorous gothic pop
English Settlement * XTC
Sense Working Overtime * An amazing track still makes me want to sing. Love on a Farm Boys Wages.* Acoustic fun.
Tropical Gangsters * Kid Creole and the Coconuts.
All together now me no Popeye you no Olive Oil.
The Stone Roses * The Stone Roses
Elvis Costello * Almost Blue
I am too nervous to have another go at Scott Walkers Tilt.
The Associates * Sulk

I like a lot of those ones. So k. How is that lp per day thing going for ya? I`m glad you asked ! I`ve had a bit of a "busy" week , but I`m back on track So I`ll get straight into it . Affectionately Melanie - Melanie Safka Her "Woodstock" album Apparently she talked her way into the greatest Music Festival in history event and if this album was her C.V. she was very lucky Not what I expected as it was 1969 and the counterculture was at it`s peak This album seems to be aimed at the coffee table more than rolling Herbal cigarettes on which is a very surprising when you watch her performance`s around that time . Two songs that did sit well for me were Tuning My Guitar and Beautiful People which she performed at Woodstock Not the Melanie I have been burning the torch for since 1971 . Mary Ann Meets The Gravediggers And Other Short Stories - Regina Spektor Great title Shame the songs don`t do it justice Santa brought me a book at X Mas Never A Dull Moment . 1971 . It`s as it says on the tin about the best year in Rock So the first Album in the book Tapestry - Carole King An album that has been in my collection for many many years and I confess I never sit through it But after I played it some songs that I never took notice of were coming across better than back in the day I must be getting ready to buy a coffee table Nice little bit of trivia about the album She recorded 3 songs on the same Piano that was used on Joni Mitchell`s Blue 353 352 351

Odd Blood - YeasayerWell , yeh , I kinda liked it in patches , I reckon a few more plays and I think it would be a grower with future listens Bursting At The Seams - The Stawrbs You don`t get me I`m part of United ! Sorry .. I bought Part Of The Union when it came out back in the day . Worthy of a listen just for that track and the wonderful Lay Down A good album and if you love the Fairport albums after Denny left you will enjoy this for sure as I did in patches 350 349
