Bit late I`ve just been round the neighbors apologizing for this afternoon ... Just been playing Gabriel 3 backwards for clues I`m guessing Genesis fans must have thought that they were walking among the Gods in the city of Olympus being feed grapes by celestial women draped in flimsy togas when they heard Gabriel albums Two words when it comes to concepts and no need to have the lyrics on your lap and quality music Pink Floyd

Murdered by Collins? Hey lads here's a cool concept album about a guy who's just finished up s good night's vandalism and emerges from the subway into a dream where he meets carpet crawlers, loves the lamia who then shrivel up and die, gets his naughty bits lopped off (by a doctor), a bird steals the jar it's kept in and his brother John turns out to be him after all. 'I don't know what IT is but I like it'. Actually I am a bit surprised that tunes like Fly on a windshield, Broadway melody, back in NYC, lily white lilith didn't get a better response from Mr Kite. Poor guy. So Opeth next huh?

Well.. I say what I hear You have to give me a bit of credit that I even listened to it All the way through ! I remember borrowing it back in the 70`s when I discovered Gabriel and I did`nt like it then But I did go out and buy Selling and even that had me shuffling uncomfortable in my easy chair But I do like Wardrobe Was that before Collins murdered the fake Gabriel or after ? Yes. Opeth Another band I just can`t seem to get They win Prog awards left , right and centre all the time , so they can`t be that bad Can they ?

Selling.....is actually their 5th album and 3rd with Collins.
Is the Opeth one a newer one or does it have death metal growls on it. Let us know. I don't dig the growls. Heritage is a good album.

Are the rules broken when you listen to say disc one of a double / triple LP in one go and then start the next dist the nexr day.
Led Zeppelin * Physical Graffiti or BBC Session were recent listens Kate Bush * Never Forever works but any of her LP's are a coherent listen Bob Marley's * Legend (Greatest hits package but it works) Dusty Springfield * Dusty in Memphis.

There are no rules when it comes to listening to Music Pothos I`m going through albums that I tend to reach for the skip button and never listen to the whole album and of course albums I`ve never listened too Physical Graffiti is one of the albums I have never ever had trouble of sitting through all the way through My Fav Zep album , push comes to shove and is their a bad track on it ? I would say no way in my humble . Dark Side Of The Moon is another album that must be played all the way through with no skipping Everyone agree ?

If need be it's not a bad thing to divide up multi disc lps into one at a time.
Physical Graffiti is my fave too.
Dark Side has a law somewhere that you must never break it up and skip tracks.
I haven't done The Lamb in it's entirety for some years. I may do that soon but it helps that I'm a Genesis fan even though my attention wanders a bit on side 4.
Last night I listened to some pioneering Canadian industrial from 1985. SKINNY PUPPY - Bites. And the Chainsaw ep.
It helps that I'm already a SKINNY PUPPY fan.
Oops. Something just fell out of my.

Skinny Puppy ? ( I have a feeling I`ve posted that before )
Sorceress - Opeth
It was alright . It seemed to lose my attention after about half an hour The vocals were a bit under par for me . Next up .
Skeleton Tree - Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds . Wish me luck as I`m going to need it for sure This will be my second hearing It was written about the time of the death of Cave`s son you can imagine it`s not a foot tapper

When Skeleton Tree was released 6 music played it in full and it was beyond powerful. In fact 6 music do the liten together first plays on a regular basis now. Nick Cave. Radiohead Rolling Stones and Kate Bush all had their latest LP's played in full over the last few months.
The musician John Grant is obsessed with Skinny Puppy.

You may know have guessed I`m not a Genesis fan And as for Marillion ?! As Amadeus will now be shaking his head as he reads this There a poor man`s Genesis and as for Fish ! So that wont be happening I`m afraid .

Skeleton Tree - Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds Have your ever read a review of an album and wondered if the reviewer was a fan ? I do all the time . And another thing is that when you get artists that have fans of an artist that wont say a bad word about them Even if it`s so plainly obvious that some albums they release are crap I hate that . I confess I`m not the biggest Nick Cave fan and with his early albums I find them ..Average at the best But for me the man just got better and better and with the 2013 Push The Sky Away I think it is bloody brilliant And so God damn lucky to see the man for the first time on that Tour , what a performer This album ? Not impressed , but time may change my mind Rings Of Saturn sounded like a Micheal Stipe off shoot The track Distant Sky might be the most beautiful melancholy song I`ve ever heard or the worst ? And the title track backing singers sound as though they were given the lyrics 2 minutes before they recorded the song Given the background on the recording the album I was`nt expecting a great album But if people who tell me it`s a great album I will be ready for a debate for sure . Talking of untouchables Neil Young . I went to see Mr Young in 2003 And this was the Greendale Tour Only trouble was that the album had`nt been released yet Fair enough But he played as I remember the whole bleeding album That was a very long night I never really wanted to play that album again, I may have tried but I don`t think I would have got through it So then , next up Greendale - Neil Young . 360

OK then if you cannot be tempted with a Wilson/Fish collaboration how about 'Moonmadness' by Camel.

Hummmmmmmmm.
I went through the Skeleton Tree lp and it's not very entertaining. It might be a good album but I'm not drawn to hear it again.
But I might.
Marillion. Poor man's Genesis. Lol. Not a fan though I appreciate the quality of Misplaced Childhood. I might give that a spin soon.
Camel. The singing is not my favorite part of Moon madness but I still have a great affection for that record. Lunar Sea is one of my most favorite pieces of music ever by anyone.

Greendale - Neil Young I think that old saying " Less Is More " The less I say about it the better . He has done worse . At the moment I`m finding this experiment tough . I`m sure I will soon find something that is`nt like pulling teeth . Tomorrow Camel . 359

Uh huh. Greendale. Sort of the definition of self indulgence. Camel should sit better with you. Of particular note, Aristullus and Lunar Sea.

Just been chatting with a mate who is an obsessive Smiths fan. Hatful of Hallow is the LP they would listen in one go.
Sergeant Pepper (obviously)
Bowie Hunky Dory and Ziggy fit the bill.

For a Smiths novice I'd recommend Strangeways or Queen is Dead.
(Hint hint)Seventh Dream of Teenage Heaven.

I have the same love for The Smiths as for a Cat stuck up a Drainpipe Sounds terrible and all I want to do is put it out of it`s misery Pepper and Hunky Dory are albums I know backwards Pothos so they will not be in this experiment . Moonmadness - CamelFinally ! An album that was`nt having wondering how much longer ! I really enjoyed most of it for sure and I will be playing that again Tomorrow I`m going to try a band I have more of a miss than a hit with Queen I bloody love Sheer Heart Attack and never dared stray away from that album as some of Queen`s songs make me queasy Check out Bring Back Leroy Brown on Sheer Heart Attack I know it`s on my fav Queen album and yes I do skip it .. Every time So then it`s their next album chronologically ( I think that`s the word ) A Night At The Opera - Queen 358
