I have already posted a photo . Well . It was a bit of a change this year as we did n` t met up in the Grapes on the Saturday but we did get to meet up at The Alama . Which was a new place to me . Very nice . Got to meet Sunny again which was a pleasure . Also got to talk to Trev for the first time proper . I remember we got talkin about tragic Rock deaths and then we spoke to that very nice German fella . Guitars , Hamburg , and ladies in shop windows I think . Rob was there ,the Gaffa and of course Gaz and Mike turned up later on who in fact had been there all day ! . Kate is Prog Mike . No question . And a few more there from the Forum , but I did`n t get chance to talk to. Sunday the Adelphi meet up was`nt a bad turn out either . That seemed to fly by really and again did`n t really get to chat with many people . Except Trev ! Alright mate ! And we had a few newbies , Colleen and I did`nt get to meet the others , sorry ! Hope to see everyone again next year . Edit Bit . Oh yeh and we discussed a Manchester meet up ? How`s about it then Mr M .?

Yes, that German guy. He was very interesting. He had a captive audience with us lot. Alma De Cuba is an excellent venue. Glad you managed to get a ticket. That Dirty Soul (?) where excellent but just short of a lead singer. He was a blagger that' 'singer'. It must of been his band otherwise he should have been well sacked. The bass player stepped up to finish the set singing Helter Skelter and he was sensational. Why he isn't the lead singer I don't know. Apparently they are really called Dirty Yoko but CCT wouldn't let them use the name during the week.
Gleison Tulio I really liked too. He's the Brazilian guy who plays sensational acoustic guitar with a funk rock influence. Uses a lot of effects and jumps on the drums after creating a loop of guitar parts. He had a female bass player with him this year with the most amazing long blonde hair. She was also an Excellent bass player and singer.
It's actually a really good venue for having a good chat with people as there is nowhere to wander off and it's a captive audience.
Yes, I'm up for a day out in Madchester. Just need to pin the date down. I will try and drag The Sun King along if you like. I know he would enjoy the crack!

I seem to recall the German fella was called Georg (pronounced Gay-org) and he was a very nice man. It was my first time in Alma de Cuba and I was very impressed by the place, fantastic decor, very nice beer and not a bad burger served in the yard. I wasn't too enamoured with the acoustics if I'm being honest, from where I was stood it all sounded a bit tinny. I did hear people say that the further forward you went the better the sound got, so maybe next time I'll slope off down the front. If I had one criticism of Beatleweek this year it would undoubtedly be the sea of Ipads that seemed to be blocking your view of the performers in just about any venue you visited over the course of the week. Taking pictures or filming with phones I can deal with, but when someone in front of you holds up a device with the same dimensions as a telephone directory, it's getting a bit daft. Actually while I'm on my soapbox....I have another complaint / criticism.... Why do the Cavern see fit to employ a toilet attendant (only in the mens as far as I'm aware) when the place is small enough as it is. There's only 2 sinks and he's blocking one by just standing there with his array of lotions, potions and lollipops. I've seen people walk out without washing their hands because they either can't get to the sink or simply don't want to tip the guy for turning the tap on for you, C'mon Cavern Club sort it out!!! Nice lollipops though!

I agree with you on both counts Gary. I'm quite capable of turning a tap on and drying my hands. I don't get it. And the ipad brigade is getting out of hand.

Sincere apologies for not being around more since Liverpool - I was rough for awhole week with man flu afterwards and even now my voice hasn't gone back to normal since it disappeared completely during Beatle Week! Excuses, excuses! Was absolutely brilliant seeing everyone again - but despite having seen everyone at least twice following our "bonus" meet up at the Alma de Cuba it still feels like I didn't get to talk to everyone anywhere near as much as I'd liked! I must admit, the "proper" forum meet up on the Sunday is a complete and utter blur for me! But as I didn't get back to my room till gone 8am that morning I was understandably still a little worse for wear - so I will need to be reminded what we all did afterwards! I know the intention was to stick together afterwards and see a few bands so I hope most of us managed to do just that. Did anyone happen to see Colleen again over the weekend? Thanks again to everyone for making Beatle Week so special - I really cannot overstate enough how great it was to see you all again Oh, and I will try and get all the pics uploaded on here ASAP! All the best, AL

I'll have to take your word for that Simon as I've never watched the 'Sound of Music'. Isn't that the one where Julie Andrews sings about 'A spoon full of sugar'?

I don't really do musicals, I have a problem with people spontaneously bursting into a song and dance routine. It doesn't happen in real life, except of course if you're unlucky enough to be caught up in one of those annoying flash mob things!!!
