I know what you mean about having the opportunity for a decent chat - that's why I thought the Adelphi pub (is it still called Friday's?) would be ideal as there's not usually anything going on in there on convention day (i.e. the Sunday) and it's most definitely the hub on the Sunday. After a couple of hours in the Grapes we always tend to slope off to either the Cavern pub or club (or wherever) anyway and get split up as people leave at different times, so thought perhaps this year we might be able to stick together for longer - then maybe pick out an itinerary of bands for us all to see at the various venues in the Adelphi? There would also be a lot more choice there than the Cavern plus it wouldn't require a complete change of clothes afterwards! LOL! That sort of combines everyone's suggestions I think, doesn't it? Every year though I'm gutted that I haven't had the opportunity to have a proper catch up with everyone, so I'd really love to be able to spend more time with everyone this time... except arthurlee (just kidding of course Mr Lee! Get out of that!! )! But as you said Si, it's early days! That sounds really a good idea Al . We would be able to have a Forum all dayer and not all get lost .

Also, I've looked at the start times for Alma de Cuba on the Saturday and I think that by the time everyone got there from the Grapes we'd have missed a fairly hefty chunk of the bands. Every night is pretty much an all-nighter though as all the bands finish at about 5am every single night - hence the regular 6am strolls to Bazooka Chicken - and why I always look a complete wreck on the Saturday - so it would really make no odds what day we have the Forum meet-up as I'm still gonna be totally f-ked whatever day we have it! LOL! Hi Guys!
I have just discovered this forum. I am from Brazil, and I need that you guys advise me.
I'm going on a trip with my wife and her parents. We are going to Paris and London, and, we will arrive in London on August 25, and we are intending to go to Liverpool for a one day stay, from 25 to 26, because of the festival.
We will arrive in London at 1pm, and probably rent a car, to go to Liverpool. I suppose that we will took at least 4 hours to get at Liverpool, and in the next day, we are planning to got back to London by 2pm.
I looked on the Cavern pub and found that most of the shows are being sold only in packages, but there are no package of one day only, or at least, not for this one day. On August 25, there will be The Overtures' Finale at The Adelphi Hotel, and this one are being sold individually, and which we are already planning to attend. Besides these shows, are there any other events going on in town? Specially free events or things to see?
Anyway, I really would like to know from you guys, it worth it?
Thank you very much. Theles

Lots of great bands there and many favourites! The Kinx Band sounds quite intriguing - hoping it's a Kinks tribute! One big notable absentee is Nube 9. They've spelt Freda Kelly's name wrong though, haven't they? Freida?

Nice to see Chris Montez and Tommy Roe appearing this year. I'm sure they were on the same bill quite frequently in the sixties. Although both in their early 70s now, I expect that they would put on a great show.
An interesting poster from 1963 : 'Britain's Dynamic Beatles' indeed!

With Beatle Week now very fast approaching (under 8 weeks now), do you think we can get the legendary Forum meet up sorted? I know we'll have quite a few new 'members' and whatever we decide, we obviously should decide where and most importantly, when is convenient. I'm all for keeping it on the traditional Saturday (say 11:00 am). I know that might be way too early for you Al! And I know last year, although very successful, we seemed to be crammed like sardines into the corner section of The Grapes which is why I agree with Al that somewhere like the 'Fridays' bar (not sure if they still call it that) in The Aldephi would be suitable.
Can people that are wanting to come to the meet up let us know if the above arrangements would be OK for them or, if not, suggest alternative arrangements? Oh, and by the way AL, I'll try and keep out of your way! Get out of that one - wheyhey!! .

Saturday is good for me Arthurlee. The Grapes is a perfect setting. 12 noon would be better than 11am!!

Aha - the Grapes doesn't open till 12:00 - hence that choice of time for the meet-up! Get out of that! LOL! The problem is Saturday is the Alma de Cuba day, which is usually one of the highlights of the week. This year they're doing the "Songs They Gave Away" gigs, which sounds pretty awesome! But the reason why I suggested having the meet up on Sunday at the Adelphi pub was that not only would there be more of an opportunity to chat and more room for everyone to sit but there would be a HUGE amount of bands to choose afterwards, thus afording us more time to hang out with everyone - which for me is what it's all about So, I would still like to propose a Sunday meet-up in the Adelphi pub (whatever it's called these days). What do you reckon?

Just a couple of points on your proposal Al.
I'm thinking that some 'regular' Forum meet up attendees may not be available to go on the Sunday. Our very own Mr Kite is staying in Liverpool for only one night, that being the Saturday night. I would guess that, with him going home on the Sunday, he might be halfway back home by 12:00 (or whatever time the meet up is scheduled for). Or, even if he's not going home until the afternoon/evening, he may not feel like going to the meet up amongst drunken slobs like us (get outa that one ) when he's got transport to catch later.
Also, because Sunday is 'Convention Day' in The Adelphi, people who aren't part of a Cavern Club package deal (and that includes yours truly) will have to pay an entrance fee (£10?) to gain entrance to the hotel. I personally don't mind but some people may not wish to partake of what's on offer in The Adelphi or have other plans or bands they want to see elsewhere in Liverpool on the Sunday.
Now I know we can't 'conveniently' please every potential meet up attendee and I'm not trying to throw a 'Spaniard In The Works'! - but I just wanted to let you know my thoughts. That's what I reckon!

Thanks for your points Art , but I wont be rushing home Sunday . It would be better for me really on a Sunday as I will be setting off Saturday morning so I wont get there till dinner time and the train is manic with Cream fields being on as well so there is a chance of really being late . And of course I have to check in . Having said that . I managed it last year ... But I do think it would be better on Sunday. Having said that . I would have no problems if anyone would want some Manc company on Saturday . As I always say every year , it`s great to meet you lot in the flesh . And that I`m not at the Festival that long so I would be willing to meet people twice ! So there you go .

Hello everyone, I'm just curious as to whether any of you have booked ticket packages for this years Beatleweek or have you purchased individual tickets for certain shows? I was thinking of booking one of the packages ( Red Album/ Blue Album thingy's) but thought I'd find out first what the majority of you's are going for this year!
