I suppose this is the cool thing, or bad thing depending on which way you look at it, about collecting. Once you've managed to procure one set of albums/ singles on a certain format, before long there's always another format or repackaged/ re-labeled Set for you to have a go at next, and as we all know it can get a little daft, and just to see how daft..... What's the most copies of the same album on the same format that anyone has in their collection? I agree with this. This is when you realize you have the "Must have all" Beatles disease. This is why I started selling off most of my stuff that was just lying around. Especially extra CD sets. I recently bought the 2014 US Capitol CD set on Amazon and thankfully came to my senses and cancelled the order the next day before it shipped. I literally didn't sleep that night asking myself why I bought it, when I already have them on the UK set, and the old 2004-06 Capitol Vol.1 & 2 set, (which I also sold). I'm so glad I have all my Beatles music on iTunes. If I want, I can burn it on to a CD, or just play it straight from my iPod or iPhone. My prized collection is my original 60's UK LP's, BUT I'm sooooooooooo tempted to buy this new mono LP set To answer your question, 1) I have the original UK top loading white LP in Stereo (wouldn't mind a mono) 2) I have the 2009 stereo CD of the white LP, (and of course wouldn't mind the 2009 mono white CD) 3) the 30th anniversary numbered stereo white CD.

And wasn't it funny that the white album on cassette and eight track were black. lol

Ha! I never got the single or EP bug. At the time I just wanted all the albums and if some of them were collectable,,, great. I did prefer the originals but knowing how loud money talks and who it talks to (not me) I did what I could, as can be seen in the previous pages. Of course it can go on forever as in: www.ultimatebeatlescollection.com/

www.ultimatebeatlescollection.com/First of all I wouldn't want to be that collector or have his collection! He's never played one record out of his collection for fear of it not being prestine again! So why have it? I like my collection and play them and hold them in my hands whenever I want to. All his records are in different bank vaults because he's afraid of someone stealing them. What fun is that? I also heard there's a collector in Brazil, I think it is, that is buying large collections of records and is trying to amass the single most largest record collection in the world!

If I had that collection I can see being thrilled about it by putting it in a museum. These shouldn't be hidden away. Stick them in the British Museum! Let everybody enjoy them visually. I think it would be neat to see all that stuff.
but like you, I bought my stuff to be handled and enjoyed. Otherwise I have to worry about dusting stuff I don't use.

This guy is too funny. Biggest US collection and he thinks Macca would want to come see it. The Beatles hated what Capitol did with their LP covers and songs which of course was the whole reason for the Butcher cover. Stick with the U.K. stuff folks, that's the way the Beatles released them, and in mono.

Stick with the U.K. stuff folks, that's the way the Beatles released them, and in mono. Except that there are those of us who grew up with the Capitol albums and they have a certain whiff of nostalgia that the UK ones don't. I agree with having the albums as the Beatles intended but the US ones represent the way Beatlemania unfolded over here. very different to how it unfolded in the UK. The name of the US game was exploitation. And a couple of generations grew up on it before 1987 when we finally got the UK releases. That's my duties as a Capitol apologist today.

I think the real name of the game was 'capitalism'. Quite appropriate if you ask me.
btw one of the rarest Apple singles sold today on eBay for $257!
The single that wasn't...
