Anyone ever see this lp before? The only one I ever seen endorsed by The Beatles. And check out the song listing. I don't think John & Paul ever wrote those two songs.

It looks like the Beatles only endorsed the Ad-Lib Club. Probably only mentioned it once in an interview and Ad-Lib ran with it.
Some questionable song writing credits. Money? Do You Love Me?
What's it actually sound like?

Being a weirdo, I sent Mr Mustard to the 'We Buy White Albums' currently on display in Liverpool. And got him to get me a copy of the art piece the chappy put together. The album cover is a composite of 100 covers. And the records are 100 white albums playing at the same time. Sort of in sync at the beginning of each side but by the end,,, a wall of noise. It's a beautiful thing. It JUST arrived today and I had to share.

Nice collectable Amadeus. Not everyone is going to have one of those in their collection.
Here's something I have that maybe alot of people haven't heard about unless they are book collectors too. It's an ARC (Advance Reading Copy- Proof) of the book written by Spencer Leigh in 2011. What these are, they are like promo records. Books that were printed before the First Editions were even printed and sent to book dealers in advance. These were printed so the publisher could get feedback from the dealers about the book and if the dealers would like to place advance orders for the book.

I must say I think his white album project is a great idea and that's a really cool object you've got there. Makes me think of that 4'33" piece by John cage, if you mixed 100 performances of that how it'd probably be full of sound from the combined noise of the audiences. I can imagine that it would be very noisy. Pile 100 rooms of ambience with throat clearing, chair squeaking and booing, it's a pretty full soundscape. Neat book ROCK. And I don't know if APPLE had to give their approval. If anybody remembers the NEGATIVLAND vs. Island Records over the use of U2 samples,,,,,,, it would seem that something would have to be sorted out.

Do you know whether Apple Corps have had any involvement in the release of this composite album? Now that is a good question bmp74. Because it is copyrighted material he should have to pay something. Maybe he has.

I have this highly coveted beatlemania era item. And this one. ROCKY, the Aztecs can't be any worse than this one. They even have a brass band in the group. Is it The School Boys? Is it The Moptops? Or is it The Liverpool Moptops? I dunno. AND you HAVE to read these liner notes. It's amazing!

That's funny Amadeus! lol They must have pressed that album overnight between the Jack Paar Show and the Ed Sullivan Show in early 1964. There were a few different albums like that one cashing in on the Beatles here's another...

I actually played it. (once)
meaning I skipped through it, like, 10 seconds of each song,
really, I played 2 songs on each side,
Or I mean to say, I played one song,
OK I didn't play it.

I know how you feel Amadeus. I thought it was great idea at the time too! Matter of fact, I just checked, and I have it on my iTunes (not sure why) but it will stay there for now! Edit: Actually having a chuckle listening to it, as I write....

I bought this 64 page book with greatest hits cassette tape in the 1980s from British department store 'Marks and Spencer', with the track listing on the tape being the same as the 'Oldies but goldies' release. It was fully endorsed at the time by EMI which would probably explain the £40-£50 price tag that you'd have to pay to lay your hands on a copy today, rather bizarre for a cassette tape I think.

Was it a Marks and Sparks exclusive? It would be a pretty neat thing to have.
There's also a whole separate collectable area around the Columbia House record club mail order deal. If you have a, say, Meet The Beatles that you ordered from Columbia House in the '70's or early '80's, I guess it has a whole different value than the store bought ones because of the Columbia record Club small print on the cover. As a result, they're a lot more rare.
I never knew that until recently so, I've missed out again!!!

I suppose this is the cool thing, or bad thing depending on which way you look at it, about collecting. Once you've managed to procure one set of albums/ singles on a certain format, before long there's always another format or repackaged/ re-labeled Set for you to have a go at next, and as we all know it can get a little daft, and just to see how daft..... What's the most copies of the same album on the same format that anyone has in their collection?

I never got THAT daft. I had 2 Yellow Submarines, one APPLE and one Capitol. Until this 'art piece' white album (as seen above) I only had 2 Whites. Two Sgt Peppers. Mono and Stereo.
Rocky has SEVEN white albums. That's sort of unbalanced no?
