Beatlesattheirbest, I don't usually intervene even when discussions get heated on here but your posts in this thread are seriously getting on my nerves. Quite clearly the title and content of your original post and subsequent responses were supposed to provoke a reaction and you certainly got it - job done - move on! Quite simply Pete was a really nice guy but not a good drummer - but you can read our discussions on this matter elsewhere on the forum. All of the posters - Beatle fans - actually agree with you about the shoddy treatment of Pete, so consequently the title of your thread is wrong. Now - PLEASE - be quiet! mrmustard started this by playing games with the "modify" feature. He then called me a liar an demanded an apology. I pointed out what he did and how he was the one lying. He never challenged my version and never said another word about it. Now a week and a half later, he starts the whole thing up again by again calling me a liar and again demanding an apology. EACH TIME IT WAS MRMUSTARD THAT STARTED THIS STUPID CRAP, NOT ME. But, if someone hiding anonomously behind a keyboard wants to personally attack me calling me a liar, I reserve the right to point out what that individual is really doing. mrmustard did exactly what I said he did. I only said it (each time) in direct responce to his personal attacks on me - both then and now. Frankly I think mrmustard is an idiot jackass for what he's been doing and you make yourself look like an idiot jackass defending him. You're probably smart enough to know I'm right on that point. I really don't like the tone of any of your posts here, they are rude, arrogant and drip with condescension - and not to mention repetitive. You are right on one point, I am smart but I don't need a cock like you to tell me that. Now please, either shut up or leave.

you call me a cock and say I'M RUDE?
once again you feel the need to jump in on something that doesn't really concern you.
what are you, mrmustard's mommy?
This is the end Beautiful friend This is the end My only friend, the end
Of our elaborate plans, the end Of everything that stands, the end No safety or surprise, the end I'll never look into your eyes...again
Can you picture what will be So limitless and free Desperately in need...of some...stranger's hand In a...desperate land
Lost in a Roman...wilderness of pain And all the children are insane All the children are insane Waiting for the summer rain, yeah
There's danger on the edge of town Ride the King's highway, baby Weird scenes inside the gold mine Ride the highway west, baby
Ride the snake, ride the snake To the lake, the ancient lake, baby The snake is long, seven miles Ride the snake...he's old, and his skin is cold
The west is the best The west is the best Get here, and we'll do the rest
The blue bus is callin' us The blue bus is callin' us Driver, where you taken' us
The killer awoke before dawn, he put his boots on He took a face from the ancient gallery And he walked on down the hall He went into the room where his sister lived, and...then he Paid a visit to his brother, and then he He walked on down the hall, and And he came to a door...and he looked inside Father, yes son, I want to kill you Mother...I want to...fuck you
C'mon baby, take a chance with us C'mon baby, take a chance with us C'mon baby, take a chance with us And meet me at the back of the blue bus Doin' a blue rock On a blue bus Doin' a blue rock C'mon, yeah
Kill, kill, kill, kill, kill, kill
This is the end Beautiful friend This is the end My only friend, the end
It hurts to set you free But you'll never follow me The end of laughter and soft lies The end of nights we tried to die
This is the end
This really is the end for me. At least here. If you feel the need to get in the last word, be my guest. See you down the road on another thread.

As if I'm going to let YOU get the last word!
Yes, you ARE rude - are you honestly surprised at the reactions you provoke? Surely you should be used to being called a cock (or worse) by now if this is how you usually act during discussions. And forgive me if I'm wrong but this IS an open forum and as such I am free to comment on any post as I see fit. But regardless of that, this is actually MY forum, so please don’t deem to lecture me on what is and isn’t my concern.
I stand firm with my “cock” comment.

Glad to see that this twisted and one eyed interpretation of the early years of the Beatles hardly received any funding at all on kickstarter. If it is based on the views that I have seen posted here by Beatles at their best, it got exactly what it deserved.

Glad to see that this twisted and one eyed interpretation of the early years of the Beatles hardly received any funding at all on kickstarter. If it is based on the views that I have seen posted here by Beatles at their best, it got exactly what it deserved. Glad to see you are keeping up with how promotion for "The Beatles at their Best" is going. It would have been great if the Kickstarter.com launch had come through. Promoting an independent film can get expensive, especially when you are doing it all on your own. It's also a drag going up against some Beatles fans who, out of loyalty to their heroes John, Paul, George & Ringo, want to do nothing but criticize you and see you fail. Those ones can't handle the truth. But, like I said in the Kickstarter video when I first listed it, I will finish a final cut of the film and continue to promote it throughout 2012 whether that funding comes through or not. The Kickstarter launch was one of many different promotion avenues I will be trying this year. Even without the funding, it did aid in creating some more awareness. You just mentioned it, right? I may even relist it in a month or two. We'll see. Ironic that the same day the Kickstarter project ended, I found out that the rough cut I showed at the recent New England Underground Film Festival won for best documentary. Certainly not Cannes or Sundance, but it's a start. newenglanduff.webs.com/A reviewer for FilmThreat.com gave it 4 stars. www.filmthreat.com/reviews/42417/So you keep hating. I'll keep promoting “The Beatles at their Best”!!! The Beatles (1960-1970) John, Paul, George, Stu, Pete & Ringo

Well, the conclusions you draw of hate from me are as accurate as your conclusions about Pete Best. You have taken a few Beatles fans on this forum who originally agreed with some true aspects of your mostly fictional tale and tried to browbeat us for having the temerity to disagree with your bull$hit. If you think that making a twat of yourself in this forum is good publicity for your movie, I think you are mistaken. Pretty much the same way you think that Pete Best was the "star of the group", seriously you either have to be taking the pi$$ out of us or are certifiable.

If you think that making a twat of yourself in this forum is good publicity for your movie, I think you are mistaken. Pretty much the same way you think that Pete Best was the "star of the group", seriously you either have to be taking the pi$$ out of us or are certifiable. When I say "haters" when I mean people like you. You say I act like a "twat", yet you troll around monitoring every post I am making and also spend time visiting other websites where I have projects, looking for opportunities to post something negative about me or my film. When I say haters, I am speaking about posters like mrmustard, who go to great lengths to discredit me with lame attempts to make me look like a liar so that they can try and force me to issue a public apology. (Although he is mean mr mustard after all, so I guess I was stupid to expect better. Now if it had been polythene pam, that would be a different matter.) When I say haters, I speak of people like The End who not only runs this website, but is an administrator at www.DMBeatles.com where he tells everyone who posts... RULE 1 NO PERSONAL INSULTS or ATTACKS..., personal abuse or attacks WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!Yet on his own website, twice he tells me to shut up or leave. When I don't shut up or leave he starts putting posts up calling me a "cock". What happened to.. NO PERSONAL INSULTS or ATTACKS..., personal abuse or attacks WILL NOT BE TOLERATED!A classic do as I say, not as I do huh Alan? I don't see how the three of you are in a position to lecture me about being rude. Since starting this project, I have found that there are many Beatles fans who are so arrogant in their belief that they all ready know it all when it comes to Beatles history, you can't tell them anything. They get downright pissed when you try. Then there is another group that are just so emotionally tied to their own beliefs in what The Beatles mean, and their perception of what The Beatles are, that you can't tell them anything either or else they just get upset. It ain't easy waking a 50 year sleeping elephant to hearing the truth about a subject when they already think they know it all. Many Beatles fans can't handle the truth! True Beatles history doesn't begin and end with what you saw in Anthology or what you read in Wikipedia or what you heard John, Paul, George or Ringo say in interviews. They say a lot of things. They also leave a lot of things out. You say I have a "mostly fictional tale" and I "browbeat you for having the temerity to disagree with my bull$hit". Really? Do you even know what "temerity" means? Temerity - "Excessive confidence. Reckless boldness; rashness. An unreasonable or foolhardy contempt of danger or opposition. Recklessness."When you say you and a few others here have the "temerity" to disagree with my bullsh--, you are actually insulting yourself and your buddies. You say I tell mostly "fiction & bullsh--"? What part of what I posted was fiction? What part of what I posted was bullsh--? Explain yourself? "Explain myself"? You claim Pete Best was the "star of the group" and the Beatles were "a bum group nobody wanted" and I have to explain myself? LMAO Sorry but I have contributed my last post to this comedy act of yours. I think it's high time the mods locked this idiotic thread.

"Explain myself"? You claim Pete Best was the "star of the group" and the Beatles were "a bum group nobody wanted" and I have to explain myself? LMAO Sorry but I have contributed my last post to this comedy act of yours. I think it's high time the mods locked this idiotic thread. My "star of the group" comment was based on the fact that by August 1961, Pete was drawing more fans than the others and many of the groups fans were calling the band "Pete Best & The Beatles". On the one year anniversary of Pete Best joining The Beatles, The Mersey Beat ran an article calling them "a phenomenon unlike anything we will see again in our lifetime". Best was singled out for praise. Lennon, McCartney & Harrison were not even mentioned in the entire article. That's a FACT. The "star of a group" is usually defined as the one in the group attracting the most fans to their shows. The one getting the most attention. A year after joining The Beatles, that person was Pete Best. It's a FACT. I never said Best had the most talent. All I said was that to many of their fans, by August 1961, he was the star of the group. You might not like it or think it's right, but it is a fact. My "bum group nobody wanted" comment was referring to George Harrison saying that by the time Tommy Moore quit on them, the time just before Pete Best joined, the band was unwanted "like orphans". He also said at that point in time they were "terrible" and an "embarrassment" as a band. That's a FACT. In addition Howie Casey is said to have wrote a letter to Allan Williams pleading with him not to send "that bum group" to Germany or else they'll ruin it for all of the other Liverpool groups. Another FACT. I have explained myself. Don't expect the MOD to act like a mommy and and lock the thread so you won't have to explain yourself. I have made dozens of fact based comments throughout this and other threads. You said I look like a "twat" and called my FACTS "idiotic", "fiction" and "bullsh--'. Where's your facts? Explain yourself.

Well I have to agree with you Pete was probably the star in the group at that point in time. but you have to remember The Beatles were John's group. What he said goes and I think he was probably pissed that Pete was getting all the attention. I remember reading that when John, Paul and George decided on changing their hairstyles Pete objected. That was probably Lennon's oppertunity to get Pete out of the band and let Ringo in. Probably Pete didn't give a crap cause he also thought The Beatles were a lame group without him and he could go elsewhere and even form his own group and become even more famous. But alas FATE stepped in and we all know what happened. I offen wonder if the Beatles had never came to America and been seen on the Ed Sullivan Show would be talking about them now?

He is said to have went home and cried when was told the others sacked him. He later tried to commit suicide.

Heck we've all done that after breaking up with our first girlfriends! lol Just think maybe if Pete would have been still in the band when they became famous that idiot may have shot him instead of John. At least Pete is still with us.

At least Pete is still with us. Yeah. I think the crying had to do with the fact that he put in 2 years of his life, 1000's of hours of playing time as the group went from starting out playing in a toilet to recording their first UK record only to be dumped from the band now that they didn't need him anymore. I think the suicide attempt may have been caused by the incredible pressure he felt as The Beatles phenomenon became the most incredible entertainment story in the history of the world. He couldn't go anywhere without being constantly being reminded of what happened and how the world now defines him.

The Pete Best bits of their shows were popular. By the way, I still recommend " The Beatles. The True Beginnings" by Roag, Rory and Pete Best. He seems to (these days) have a degree of contentment in promoting the part of Beatles history that he was a part of. For over 20 years now, he's been claiming his rightful spot in music history. I'm happy for him.

This really is the end for me. At least here. If you feel the need to get in the last word, be my guest. See you down the road on another thread. Ha ha Really? What a complete and utter joke you are! Yes, I did used to be an administrator at DM's but I'm not anymore, so God knows why you are quoting the rules of another forum here - only proves you're a professional troller as you're obviously plying your trade in other places too. And now you're branding me a "hater"? Of what exactly? Perhaps if you'd bothered to research THIS forum's rules ("have fun and please be nice!") we could all have had a sensible discussion on this topic but you had other ideas. If your mission was to convert me into a so-called hater you are failing as it's so obvious that that is how you're trying to publicise your lame conspiracy theories: you piss people off (even those that agree that Pete's departure was handled badly) then hold them up as examples of Beatle fans that can't handle the truth. It really is pathetic. You have stepped WAY over the mark this time mate - remove any personal data pertaining to forum members from your post.
