Just wondering if we could chat about certain Beatles tracks. So I was wondering about
She Loves You.
A happy joyous tune, but boy those lyrics are dark. Two blokes chatting about one dumping his girl, both to her and the friends dismay. Is this a joint song by Paul and John. I actually love it and think it shows that they are on the right path to being great writers and brilliant at story telling.
So what do you think of it.

It reminds me that it was 60 years ago this month that I first heard of the Beatles. It was on the CBS Evening News, reported by Walter Cronkite. I was a teenager, growing up in north Louisiana, USA, and the report just had snippets of "She Loves You," the "Yeah, yeah, yeah" part.
I didn't hear the Beatles until the next month, January of 1964. I was listening on AM radio to WLS, a Chicago radio station that could be picked up long distances away, and the promo for the station said, "The Beatles are on WLS, with 'I Want to Hold Your Hand,'" and that was the first Beatle song I heard in its entirety.
"She Loves You" was the second. As a teenager, I never considered the lyrics to be particularly dark. Just a bummer for the guy to lose his girlfriend, and the song is bright enough to say he can get her back. Hey, she loves you!
Now, if he were an adult whose wife had separated from him, that would be dark.
I haven't read the story behind to lyrics to see if the lyrics were just a story one of them made up for a song, or if it was from an observation from real life. And I don't know which one, John or Paul, initiated the writing of the song, but I suspect John.
But I don't think it's as real-life as "How Do You Sleep" or "I Me Mine."
I first heard "She Love You" not too long after hearing "I Want to Hold Your Hand," mainly because the Swan label managed to get their hands on it before Capitol Records did, despite Capitol being a division of EMI, like Parlophone.
I can't believe that was 60 years ago. I'm a really old man!
