last night on BBC4 i caught a little of this harrowing documentary last night , i know Mr Kite was probably more of a Donny Osmond than David Cassidy back in the day ha ha , however even i could understand the screaming girl fans he was a pretty cool handsome guy. My Kate friend was nuts about him when she was young and had 13 of his albums and solo stuff. This documentary, similar to the Glen Campbell one i saw, covered Cassidy making his final album whilst battling dementia it's not an easy watch and with so few ladies on this forum not sure if any of you would have tuned into this. I'm watching what on the iplayer what i missed last night. www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b0bshqks/david-cassidy-the-last-session

I watched it. Deeply moving and I recall adoring him when I was about 4 years old. It was a great doc though difficult to watch. Was the consensus that his dementia was alcohol related. He seemed to be in a lot of physical and mental anguish. Being famous does not much fun. The scene in the van from 1972? escaping from the fans after a gig was simply terrifying. I seem to recall his brother Shawn in the Hardy Boys and only recently knew that Jack Cassidy was the actor in Columbo (one of the best episodes for me) Never knew how his father passed away very sad.

The dementia according to his doctor was alcohol related. For me it seems his Dad was the cause of David's unhappiness , leaving the family at 4 years old and marrying Shirley Jones . His dad was an alcoholic too and seemed jealous of David's fame .
