As usual with Roy Orbison documentaries you can't help being moved by the family tragedies in his life. I was unaware that his Barbara died in 2011 of pancreatic cancer. Really emotional contributions from his sons. My favourite light moment was when you seen Roy singing The Monty Python's Philosophers Song. Sadly Roy died in 88 just when his career was rejuvenated with a new solo album and joining The Travelling Wilbury's , he seemed so happy to be with these guys. Lovely touch by the Wilbury's to have the rocking chair with the guitar where Roy would have been on End of the line. just found this little gem.

I never knew he was riding with Claudette when she was killed. Also never realised his health issues going as far back as the late 1970's. Funniest moment was him singing the Python song. Such a shame his life ended just as he was being rediscovered. I recall John Peel doing a wonderful radio special on him after he died.

As you say he was his career was back on track then he dies of a heart attack. No-one does sad songs like Roy, Crying , it's over and my favourite Roy song, In Dreams. In Dreams is such a clever song, it starts off as what you think is a simple love song with him dreaming about his girl then comes that twist that always gets me and of course when Roy hits those high notes he reduces me to tears .
