The things i find on youtube. The Beatles are on first but stay with for the annoying milk advert followed by the unintentionally hilarious Karl Denver singing Wimoweh who's eventually joined by inappropriate dancers. I couldn't stop laughing. There's a rather eccentric performance from Tommy Quickly. Followed by a rather underwhelming response from an American audience on American Bandstand on their first hearing and showing of The Strawberry Fields video.

Both the girls featured on that program were fairly successful in the record business. Sadie Shaw was still recording up until a few years ago when she retired. Lynn Cornell was from Liverpool and was in the girl group the Vernon Girls previous. She also married Andy White who played the drums on The Beatles 'Love Me Do. They both are still living and in their 70's.

Unlike the fake excitement and cheering on that terrible new BBC programme Sounds like Friday night, although to be honest it's not directed as Old but young at heart people on here. I loved the mixed reaction from the crowd o their first hearing of Strawberry Fields, a bit too way out for some people ha ha.

I found the American Bandstand interviews, after the song was over, clip interesting too because you can see the real beginnings of the greaser vs. long hair/hippie battle that was about to begin in American schools back then. Girls snubbing it and saying the Beatles are dead we love the Monkees, with guys with long hair loving it. Like always 'you really had to be there' to experience it. To tell kids about that today you get a 'yeah ok' or 'whatever' from them and that's it. Afro-Americans always talk about how they were being discriminated against back then, but I remember alot of my friends being beat up by gangs just because they had long hair and not allowed to go eat in places because of it too.
