These magazines are kept going by suckers like me when they put either The Beatles or Kate Bush on the front cover. This months issue has 20 pages on The Beatles plus a cd.

I actually haven't opened it yet just glanced at the contents, it looks fab if you'll pardon the pun. I'm just about finished my Uncut History of 1973 magazine and have the 1978 mag with Kate on the front to read but i'll read The Beatles Mojo one next. It's a sad reflection on today's youth that all these magazines cater for an older generation re-living their youth from the golden ages of Rock and Pop , not sure today's artists get a dedicated music paper. No more NME for example except that dreadful tiny mag they give away. I just glanced at the album charts on the BBC site and the number one album by someone i'd not heard of(Frank Ocean.....maybe Billy's brother ha ha ) shifted just 32,000 including evil downloads. Pathetic

I think the issue is that there has been a massive generation shift in regards to how music is consumed (hate the term but it is the only description that sort of fits) I read once that many don't own any music as such . I still have all my vinyl and cd's and was someone who read many of the magazines available at the time. Today all soundcloud and magazines online although vinyl is resurging. Frank Ocean is actually ok. A singer songwriter who fits into the Donny Hathaway, Curtis Mayfield bracket of music. I do wonder apart from touring how musicians make their living now as records sales are poor.

Yes it used to be through album sales, touring usually meant losing money, now it's the other way round. In a weird way we had it so much better, one designated "pop" channel , Radio One and Top of the pops, so the whole country watched and listened to the same thing. A good appearance on Top Of The Pops could elevate you into the mainstream and onto success. Now it's all been separated into too much choice and we are in our separate worlds. I'm the wrong age for this download stuff, how many of the young ones today buy and listen to an album all the way through. I think they just download tracks they like. In our days we called that a mixtape which of course we'd give to someone you liked in the hope something might come of it.(i'm still waiting ha ha ) For what it's worth with Beatles albums i play them from start to finish, no skipping of tracks,(well let me think Revolution no9?)i'd feel it's a little disrespectful to skip Beatle tracks on an album.

I love the fact that bands now have to tour ! Never dreamed that I would ever see E.L.O. live
I love Gigs !
I got the Issue today . It`s absolutely a must for Beatle fans for sure With two fantastic Beatle prints to boot . And compared to the prices of Mags these days Mojo is a snip at £5.50 .
I also have been buying the History of Rock Mags . They are also a right good read Not got the 1978 one with Kate it seems to hard to get !

I've just started reading this, yes the prints are fantastic. The CD i was hoping for would have have been The Beatles at the Star Club but it's original artists. I have one of these type cds which has The Richie Barrett Some other guy, but i love what The Beatles do to these songs, Please Mr Postman and Roll Beethoven are crackers, though i should mention I also love the ELO version.

I was at HMV yesterday and some 20 year old girl recommended Dark Side Of The Moon to me. The last time I was there another 20 year old said I really need to check out The Wall. In a different shop some teenage girl noticed my Pink Floyd The Wall T-shirt and told me she loves that album. And she was duly impressed to find out I saw them in 87. LONG BEFORE SHE WAS BLOODY BORN!!
In some corners of our contemporary culture things are looking up.
