I've always wondered what George's contribution to Badge was, the song he wrote with Eric Clapton for Cream, both in writing the song and what he played in studio. Obviously he didn't play the solo or the big riff in the middle. Was it just rhythm guitar in the studio?

well, according to I Me Mine, the title came from EC not being able to read George's hand writing where he'd written 'bridge' on the paper they were writing the song on.
That's all i can remember (and the main thing i cite as being a good reason to have bad handwriting!LOL)

Yes, I''ve read that one too. It would be good to know what else he contributed.

According to I Me Mine George finished off the melody from Claptons initial idea and then George wrote the lyrics. Harrison also states that it was Clapton who mis-read 'bridge' for 'badge'. Later ringo turned up up drunk and added the line '...about the swans in the park' I'm pretty certain he only supplied rhythm guitar in the studio.
