Good early 70's acoustic stuff.

Was this at the time when George Martin worked with them?

This song was off their first album but did work with George Martin from 1974 to the end of the decade. They recorded another favorite of mine they wrote.

I haven't really got into America yet but would like to. Could you recommend their 'must have' albums? Thanks.

Their two best albums are the first one just called "America" and the first one George Martin produced called "Holiday" and possibly "Hearts" (George Martin) but not anywhere near as good as Martin's first one.

This one's really catchy - and could that really be George on guitar? George Martin did produce America!?

Possibly but it's not on the list of his session work www.bekkoame.ne.jp/~garp/hari/goff06.htmThis doesn't mean it's not him as there are other examples in music were producers have used guitarists they have or are currently working with on their other projects. A perfect example is Yes guitarists Steve Howe and Trevor Rabin both doing sessions for Welcome To The Pleasure Dome by Frankie Goes To Hollywood for which Trevor Horn was producing but also had not long been both a member and producer of Yes. Howe is credited with acoustic guitar on the title track yet you'd swear he plays guitar on other Frankie Goes To Hollywood tracks. Not sure why I told you that but hey! I suppose the main reason against it being Harrison on guitar is that he and George Martin had no musical relationship (and no personal one I believe) following the break up of The Beatles.
