I also had the pleasure of seeing ELP, at the Top Rank [where I got to chat with them] and also at the Liverpool Empire. An outstanding musical experience. RIP Keith.

Been quiet the year for musicians. I’d be nervous if I was an old one....

According to Greg Lake, Keith had problems as far back as the late 70's. Upcoming shows where also giving him real stress. Real sad loss.

Can we just rewind and start 2016 again. I was trying to recollect how I first heard of Prince and I think Phil Lynott name checked his work just prior to the 1999 era. Truly innovative artist and what is strange is that three of the major 1980's artist have passed away far too young.
Also yesterday with the passing of Victoria Wood has just added to the sadness of this year.

Nobody and I mean nobody was playing like this way back in 1963! You have to remember this was when Frankie Avalon and Fabian were the teen idols and right before the Beatles came onto the scene there was Lonnie. With his futuristic Gibson Flying V!

Very sad to read of this man's passing. His guitar sounds amazing and it is almost a northern soul sound.

I forgot to add a little trivia about that song with Lonnie & SRV. The song is titled 'Wham' and it's from the 1963 lp by Lonnie. After it's release the tremlo bar on a guitar was nicknamed a 'Whammy bar' after that song. You'll see Lonnie going to town on it half way thru the song.
