That floor, and the packed crowd, was why the dancing down there was limited to the "Cavern Stomp"

It must have been such a great place to visit. You describe the atmosphere of the place wonderfully.

This was the floor of the Cavern.... .... not the ideal dancing surface! Is that dirt or just badly mixed concrete? The Cavern would surely have not lived thru the Disco era! Could you see Travolta swinging around there!

Uneven concrete. All added to the ambience!

Good discussion about the Beatles in 1963, including reminiscences by people who saw them many times at the Cavern, in this radio program

I'd rather see the Casbah Club or Stormville than the Royal Yacht. But that's just me.

I saw the Royal Yacht Britannia, in Hong Kong, and wasn't impressed. I expected it to be like the Nabila, but it was more like the Royal Iris! The Cavern, and the rest of the Beatles sites do attract thousands of tourists, and are a real asset to the area.

Interesting fact, during the Beatles era the Cavern had only one electrical socket for the stage. Three amps working off a single plug!

Four, counting the PA amp. Unless one of the guitars was patched into the PA amp.

New venue recently opened in Mathew Street: Serves German snacks [Bratwurst etc] as well as beer. The original Kaiserkeller, Hamburg's Grosse Freiheit had cosh-wielding Raushmeisters serving the beer. In Liverpool you get this:

The lasses look very talented. Are they typical of all Merseyside girls?

brew you'll have to take your camera in and give us some pics of the inside of the NEW Kaiserkeller. See if any Beatle or RSATH memorabilia is in there. Being a sports bar too there may not be. I'm sure those pretty barmaids are for your soccer fans.
