Hi, Am new to this forum. Have joined up as I'm helping my partner's parents sell some Beatles' Albums (Including - we think - first edition Please Please Me) and some singles (including fan club flexi discs). We've seen some interesting prices for 1st edition albums - I'm trying to find the best way of getting them valued so that we can decide how best to sell them....don't really want to sell these via ebay/discogs. Any suggestions would be really appreciated! Thanks Spinner

First, Hello and Welcome to the Forum Spinner. There are a few price guides out there, I use an old 'Official Price Guide to Elvis & The Beatles Memorabilia' book that I have as a fast reference just to see a ballpark price of an item. If I want to go and have an exact price I'll just use the internet and look it up. Ebay will give you an up to the minute price of an item if it was sold in the last three months. If you do have an item that is really rare you can you use an auction house.

The condition of the records are important and, even more so these days, the condition of the sleeve also. Rocky has given you some sound advice but the internet is a useful tool. It's time consuming but it may prevent you from being ripped off in the long run. A good place to start is HERE. Good luck, and we hope you can stick around and discuss al things Beatles - and much more!

I just finished 2 months of buying the complete Beatles collection, and I used Ebay, Discogs & Amazon.co UK. Between the 3 of them is were I learned what they are currently going for, considering their condition of the LP & LP cover and any inserts and original record sleeve. As for the first edition Please Please Me LP, it would have to be the Gold Parlophone LP, (see below) not the yellow Parlophone. That would go for, easily $500 U.S. & up going by condition of course. Stereo being more rare than the Mono, in this case as they made far fewer of them. Flexi discs are worth a lot too. Unless you can find a private collector, your best bet would be Ebay with " Buy Now" or " Best Offer" price to get what your asking for. Best of luck, wish I could afford a first edition.
