Thank you for posting that. I still cannot understand how we have never been able to track down a photograph of Balgownie. I tried for monthes and got no where.
Loved how Johnny and Alan mert.
By the way did you know there was a connection between RSATH and The Hollies. The Hollies drummer Bobby Elliot used to play for Shane Fenton and the Fentons before he joined The Hollies and of course Shane was Rory's brother-in-law.

It is such a cool car. it is so sad that so many things directly linked to Rory just disapeared. You do wonder what treats Johnny and Ringo kept but I doubt we will see them.

Well pothos a new newspaper article about RSATH has just surfaced. From June 24, 1964, their meeting with the mayor at Palma Town Hall before their concert on the island!  And a Johnny Byrne scrapbook from 1963! Price $900 and it could be yours!!  |

I have been trying to read the clippings and unfortunately even with zoom I cannot read the text other than the headlines. I wish the V&A would buy it for the nation. It is an important record of that time. One headline stuck. I was shocked about the "Saturation of Merseybeat." I do not think it was true to listeners but I think the business was not happy with the provences having such an influence on the scene. Much like today.

I love the insight into the band and into Johnny's mind. He was obviously really proud of being a member of the band. I wish I had the cash to buy this but it is just to much for me.

Just a quick note In Remembrance. Ty Brian lead guitarist for Rory's band passed away, Friday, Feb. 20, 1967, 56 years ago. RIP Charles O'Brian.  |

Wow; Thank you Rocky for posting. My memory is terrible these days.
In memory of Ty Brien. A great man and guitarist who is still remembered fondly, even by those who never had the chance to meet him. I hope that the band are playing amongst the stars as we speak. R.I.P. Sir.
