The Beatles’ original 1973 compilations, the Red and Blue albums, which have been digitally remastered, are available in stores globally from today! Both 2CD packages include expanded booklets with original liner notes, newly written essays by Bill Flanagan, and rare photos. The first Beatles compilations to be released after the band.’s 1970 disbandment, the popular ‘Red’ and ‘Blue’ collections each feature a selection of singles and album tracks written by the band’s members.‘Red’ and ‘Blue’ have been remastered by the same dedicated team of engineers at EMI Music’s Abbey Road Studios responsible for remastering The Beatles’ original UK studio albums, carefully maintaining the authenticity and integrity of the original analogue recordings. www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=444790950263

You do realise that both of these CD's where digitally remastered and re-released in 1993 by Mike Jarrett at Abbey Road. This is a particuarly bad example of EMI/Apple trying to rip off the public, attempting to cash in on the back of the mono and stereo box sets. According to Peter Doggets You Never Give Me Your Money (an absolute must buy book by the way!) only George Harrison was really involved, from the band, in the compliation of these albums in 1973. All of The Beatles were not keen on the release of these albums at the time.
Saying all this, they are compilations that have stood the test of time but they are still a rip off with this current release.

These are not even the 1993 re-masters - that release actually contained unique stereo mixes of tracks from With the Beatles, A Hard Day's Night and Beatles for Sale. This new release has been compiled solely from last year's remastered releases. So this latest red/blue release is an even bigger rip-off as it contains nothing new! Guess what though - I wanna buy it!!! LOL!
