Got any stories to share about Beatle Weeks of the past? For me, one of the highlights out of all the times I've visited Liverpool was last year (2009) when members of the Beatle forum all met in The Grapes early on Saturday morning. It was absolutely amazing meeting so many new friends! I can't wait to do it all again this year! AL

Looking forward to renewing old acquaintances - and hopefully some new ones this year.

I have been going to the Beatle Convention/Beatleweek since the early eighties but never met up with like-minded folk who have the same passion for The Beatles as I do. I would love to meet up at The Grapes again on Saturday morning this year (and every year for that matter) but could we all just stick together a bit longer? As soon as we left the Grapes we all drifted a bit although I did enjoy Hey Bulldogs company for the rest of the day and of course met up with Al, Johnny BC, Nowhere Man at various times throughout the remainder of the week. Come to think of it I really enjoyed Tuesday night in the Cavern with you three guys as well!

We absolutely will do that again! It was probably my fault we sort of drifted - I got an offer to play tambourine on the Cavern stage, you may recall and had to dash off and buy one!!! But this year I'm sure there will be even more members meeting at the Grapes and we'll try to make a day of it! :-)

Tambourine!!!! I thought you were singing!
Perhaps you should have lent your tambourine to Nowhere Man on Tuesday night. The results may have been legendary!

I've just remembered another classic moment and great memory (two actually) One was from last year which, for me was one of the very best ever. It was Sunday morning and I had a raging hangover and there I was in The Adelphi wandering around the Beatles memoribilia stalls and stuff and this guy passed me who I noticed had exactly the same t-shirt on as me. We both looked at each other, laughed, shook hands and grabbed a passer by to take a photograph of us. All I remember is that his name was Eric and he was Scottish. I never saw him again! Such an endearing moment. I suppose you want to see the photograpph? Oh, go on then. Here it is : The other moment that really stood out for me was in 2008 when, on Sunday in The Adelphi, there was a really good band playing with a young lad on drums (I think he was the son of the lead guitarist). Anyway, the young lad was obviously influenced heavily by Keith Moon by the way he played - and he was absolutely brilliant. There was a moment in one of their songs when the lad really let go. For a few seconds, I looked at Al, he looked at me and we both mouthed in unison "f***ing hell"! My brother's jaw had dropped and he was utterly speechless. We got to meet the young lad after theiir set and had a good chat to him. Now for the life of me, I cannot remember the name of the band but maybe someone (Al?) can. I have a photograph of them but unfortunately, the drummer is obliterated by his dad's guitar! . You had to be there but it was a classic moment. Here's the photograph: Really looking forward to this year's Beatle Week.

I remember that moment VERY well - that was a rather drunken morning/afternoon as I recall (or rather don't!!) the band was Tony and the Hotdogs - Tony Skeggs is ex-Overtures of course :-)

Last year was my favourite! I've been going almost every year since 2002. Nube 9, The Greets...they were amazing! Beatle Week really had a holiday atmosphere for me

Legendary as in "Hey, there's that fool on the hill who thinks he is a musician type legendary?!" Hmm, fave IBW moment(s): Meeting all IBW members over the years Being as quite as mouse at 4am in The Adelphi in the bedroom as Steve "Dave" was asleep, only for Al to chuck at tambourine at him! One or two memories that I shall keep to myself!

Too many fond memories to put on here, but one of my favourite must be from my first or second festival in 1994 or 1995. It was very late in the Adelphi lounge and Gregor and Willie of Ringer started playing the piano. I can't remember exactly what songs they were playing but they "interpreted" them in such a way that I can honestly say I have never laughed that much in my whole life!!! Other fond memories include meeting Alistair Taylor in the Cavern Pub (or was it Lennon's Bar?), the first Solo Years Concert in Central Hall (1995 or 96?) with Hare Georgeson doing 'Someplace Else' and all of them doing 'Free As A Bird' as the finale, and all those late nights in the American Bar and Adelphi lounge in the 90s. ... And, of course, not to forget, all those wonderful friends that I have met over the years!

Hi just to give my sixpennerth' I've only missed one beatle week in the last seven but this one 2010 was the best. I was there with my brother arthurlee and it was fab to see you all in " the Grapes" although the beatles early stage at Exchange St. was something to remember for a long time.......... we left the cavern quarter for the Sunday afternoon to go to the "Cross Keys" and watched Ed and his tribute 60's band. The sound mix was possibly the best I heard all weekend and some female came along, put my pint on the floor and made me dance with her for a few songs
