This is our second book after Recording the Beatles, and somewhat related as it is "Beatles" and "studio". However, it is very different. It's more of a collectible rarities "art book" than a reference book. If you look up Genesis Publications or Taschen Books, it's that kind of thing. TONS of unseen Beatles photos, an entire day in the studio making "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds". Someone's mentioned it before, but it's now out and real people have seen it. I won't talk much about it, as I'm uncomfortable with that. Just so you know, here is a link to it... www.curvebender.com

It's looking fabulous, Brian. Any chance of shipping to Europe?

With the Euro vs Dollar rate of today, it's just about 300 euro and going down.

I know it's a lot of money, but look what you get. And just 1967 books will be made. The exchange rates make it more attractive to buy. I'm certainly considering it.

I have the George Martin book that came out a few years back - fantastic quality but VERY expensive.

Yes, I know it well. You're forgetting the exchange rate is SO different. Almost all the Genesis books are 300 English Pounds or more - which is over $600 USD. The Michael Ward book is almost $900 USD! Their cheapest signed ones are around 250 pounds, which is the same price as this: $500 USD.

Genesis Publications books are high quality. I'll happily pay their prices. I know nothing about these curvebender books, never heard about before. Cashing in the name of The Beatles is a shame.

Curvebender published the VERY excellent "Recording The Beatles" book, which certainly does not cash in on The Beatles name. If anything, I think Genesis publications have been guilty of "cashing in" for quite a few years.
I think that the type of person who would willingly pay for a Genesis book would happily part with $500 for Kaleidoscope Eyes because of the similar production values.

You cannot compare Genesis Publications books with these curvender two books. Just click this link below open and see the extraordinary collection of Genesis Publications for yourself: www.genesis-publications.com/books/beatles.htmlIt was one John Lennon himself who respected the value of Jurgen Vollmer's photographs so much that used his photo on the cover Lennon's album Rock'n'Roll. Vollmer, Astridd Kirchherr, Klaus Voorman, Bob Gruen and others among artists in Genesis. I think "briank" as a spokesman for Curvebender is rather unethical doing his commercial work using the names of Genesis Publications, Tashcen etc. Cut the crap and back to the boogie.

I certainly can compare the two publishers as I own a book by each! I am aware of the "extraordinary collection" of Genesis Publications and I remain of the opinion that some of them have exploited very tenuous links with The Beatles. Some of their books are magnificent - some are not. I think "briank" as a spokesman for Curvebender is rather unethical doing his commercial work using the names of Genesis Publications, Tashcen etc. Huh?

I wonder why this forum is so anti-Genesis Publication.

I wonder why this forum is so anti-Genesis Publication. It's not. Reread The End's post.

I LOVE Genesis' books! I knew some people at the company and they were very cool, too!
They (and UFO and TRAX) do some wonderful things. Like our company, it's smart to find a few people and give them something special and rare. It's not for everyone (I'd love to have all their stuff, but I'm not THAT big a fan sometimes). I buy what I can justify.
