I liked the original Swedish series [with Wallander played by two different successive actors] I also liked the previous Kenneth Branagh series. However after watching the first episode of the current series I've stopped watching. I'll skip detailing all the gaping plot holes as he bumbles his way around Cape Town; suffice to say it was an insult to our intelligence. Anyway, I was recently directed to this outstanding clip, which I enjoyed very much....

The last two were better although again plot holes. The Swedish Original was better though.

Of course the main defect with Wallender is that he works in a small coastal village, with a murder rate like Kabul! I must admit that a lot of the Scandi crime series, such as The Killing and The Bridge were outstanding, and better than most of what is churned out over here.

I would also mention Borgan and 1864 as stunning pieces of drama. To be fare. I really enjoyed War and Peace and Peaky Blinders has amazed me.

I enjoyed Borgen. I'd recommend this film [the first of a series] as being well worth watching:
I have "Peaky Blinders" to watch. I'm current engrossed in "The Five" [which was filmed in Liverpool]

Hello and welcome back Amadeus Thanks. I don't know how 'back' I am but I'm still trying to get comfy with navigating the net on this small bloody tablet my sister gave me because she got a bigger better one and I have to get used to not using a mouse and a keyboard and still posting pics and writing my usually delightful and witty posts here with the same impact that I had with using the old ways. My posts suck now. Why keep living? Right now I'm listening to some mid 70s dub with Augustus Pablo and King Tubby. Then I'm going on to the nearly unlistenable 'Flowers Of Romance' by PiL. Choke on it. PS. A special hello from Mrs A.

After watching Madness on Jools Holland, I revisted their stuff, and really enjoyed watching their videos of the hits. This is one of my favourites:

I love all that 2 Tone stuff. Reminds me of high school.
Today it's Boris. Heavy Friends. The ultimate in sludge.
