Was his death the main cause of the break even point in The Beatles career between the "early Beatles" (same uniforms, etc) to the "Later Beatles"(Long hair, different studio attitude, etc) ?

I don't think Brian had much of an influence after they stopped touring in 1966. Sgt Pepper was recorded and released by the time he died and they had already met the Maharishi, so their trip to India (the start of their "long hair" period) may already have been decided upon. So I don't think Brian's death was directly responsible for the group's demise.
