Did anyone see the Lindisfarne Doc last night on BBC 4. I found it very moving and rather wonderful. I was thrilled to see so many major stars talking about the contrabution of the band. I knew they had toured with Genesis so seeinn g Peter Gabriel was a treat.
Rocky were they a known act in the US.

I heard of them, but never heard them. I don't think they ever toured the US or had a hit here. At least I couldn't find any.

I think the doc said that they did tour the US.
Some of their best known tracks
Lady Eleanor (1970) My personal favourite.
Meet Me on the Corner (1971)
Fog On the Tyne (1971)
Run for Home (1978)
They had a series of legendary Christmas Eve gigs at Necastle City Hall for years until Alan Hull chief songwriter and vocalist died aged 50 in 1995
The doc had Peter Gabriel, Sting, Mark Knofler, Dave Stewart (eurthmics) Jake Burns, Elvis Costello and I think they were our The Band (iethe musicians who worked with Dylan.)
