Has anyone seen Across The Universe the film? Any good? It's showing on sky movies at the moment. I missed it earlier. I have just sky + it for tomorrow. It's based on 30 Beatles songs and stars Jude Law who is a big Beatles fan apparantly.

I planning to watch it on Sky soon - I have no idea if I'll enjoy it or not!

It's on tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 on Sky Premier. I don't know if I will enjoy it either. It's probably going to be crap as I haven't heard of it before but it's got to be worth checking out with 30 Beatle songs associated with it. We should compare opinions on it.

I remember it coming out last year, with mixed reviews. It's quite psychedelic in places, apparently.

It doesn't feature Jude Law, the main male lead is Jim Sturgess who plays a character called Jude who falls in love with a girl called Lucy.
i quite like it, tho can do with out the Walrus and Mr Kite sequences.
Although Jude Law does want to do a biopic on Brian Epstein I heard somewhere he even brought one of Brian's diary's at auction as he is so curious about the real man and wants to be able to portray him right if he ever got the the chance.

Yeah, that rumour has been around for some years now - here's two stories about it from 2006: British heart-throb JUDE LAW is set to play late BEATLES manager BRIAN EPSTEIN in a quirky, hallucinogenic biopic.
After years of talks over THE FIFTH BEATLE project, Broadway producer VIVEK TIWARY has written a script which depicts Epstein's life through historical scenes, dream sequences and hallucinations.
Tiwary hopes to premiere the movie in Epstein and The Beatles' home city of Liverpool, England, in 2008.
He has the blessing of Epstein's family and has been working closely with the latter's former business partner NAT WEISS and assistant JOANNE PETERSON.
Tiwary also believes Epstein's August 1967 death of a drug overdose was accidental, not suicide.

I've just watched the Across The Universe film and I thought it was really good. Some great interpretations of Beatles songs and the whole thing was done with a lot of affection for the music. Well worth watching.

Conincidentally, they were playing it on the TV in the photography lab at school on Friday. I got to see about half of it during lunch. I really like it. Could be because the first time I saw it was at arts camp in the common room with a bunch of my friends. Arts camp is nutty as it is, so it was alot of fun.

Just watched it and was pleasantly surprised! I agree about the Mr Kite sequence but quite enjoyed Bono as Dr Robert! I love Across the Universe, its one of my favorite musicals. The versions of the beatles songs are amazing and very well done, and its a very well acted movie. And i though Bono was great. But i find myself going in the kitchen to get a snack or something during the mr. kite scene, they couldve left that on the cutting room floor.
