Had a night dedicated to it on BBC4 last night. I was not a big fan of this at the time , was more directed at an older age than i was at the time but i tuned in from time to time. Worth checking out , some nice performances, maybe there were too many American artists for me at the time. As always i find Danny Bakers reminisces very entertaining , think he's the same age as me so like me he watched as a 13 or 14 year old . www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b09scfnb/the-old-grey-whistle-test-for-one-night-only I'm sure some of you old hippies will have enjoyed this.

I watched the entire three hours. Great clips and rather moving for Annie Nightengale to talk about how she had to go on air the day John was murdered and Paul ringing the producers with a message.
I felt they could have had more from the later years. I watched the show in the 1980's
Loved the John Ottway clip.

A must to watch in the 70's, along with John Peel on the radio, the only place to find new acts.
