yes this was posted on the Kate Bush forum too. As i stated on there , i'm more upset when critics hail musical mediocrities as the next big thing.

Regarding the NY Times Elvis critic: If you were old enough in 1956 to have a job as a critic with the NY Times, you were probably too old to like Elvis and his music. i used to see that all the time until rock fans got old enough and accomplished enough to be elevated to such a position.

I never listened to music critics or movie critics in my life. Never knew why the hell they even existed. I knew what I liked and the hell with everyone else. Especially those idiot concert critics. I was sitting next to one at a Dylan concert one time and he had his little notebook jotting down crap after each song and would lean over to me and ask the song title when each song was over. lol I thought, and this is the person they sent to do a review of the concert. lol

The best critics for me were the ones who mentioned new bands and were enthusiastic about music in general.
