Aqua - Edgar Froese ( 1974 ) Via You Tube Yep it`s Prog again , sorry I just can`t help myself But wow ! its a great album and as you may or may not care, but Mr Froese is the fella from Tangerine Dream And it`s just like listening to Tangerine Dream It`s a fabulous album , a late nighter album , a great album , I loved it , and it`s a buyer But if you really want to go to town you can buy The Solo Years and get the job lot 1974 - 83 The Virgin Years Which I will be getting , as soon as I have some money as , you know how it is when your a poor window maker and from the north ... Stand Out Track NGC 891 174 i'm afraid, ive not heard of them. However on a prog tip Sky Arts last night showed ELP at the Isle of Wight from 1970. I have one single and one album by them . Their live album Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends, only bought it for Hoedown. My favourite drummer is Keith Moon but just watching a few minutes near then of this concert i'd have to say Carl Palmer is the greatest drummer . I've never seen such incredibly fast drumming, mind you the criticism of the band was although they were talented they played everything at 100 miles an hour. Did you know that Tangerine Dream got their name from Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds ? And they`ve made 157 albums ! Probably not as you`ve never heard of them !. Anyway L.L. I don`t think you would like them , they are proper Prog But give this a listen with the ol`head phones and get the ol` josh sticks out Not your cuppa I bet .

I'd smoked Jazz cigarettes for a couple of years but was quite careful inhaling it. Then one night we went back to a friends flat having not even smoked a cigarette that night then had a spliff and it completely knocked me out , i was all over the place , went to the toilet not sure what was going to come out of me or which end ha ha , eventually i surfaced and my friends suggested i lie down in their room on the bed (not that sort of party ha ha ) to clear my head. So i'm lying there trying to get my act together when from their living room i could hear them playing The White Album, i suddenly got to my feet and realised i could be lying down listening to this amazing in their living room , so quickly joined my friends again happy days.

Amy Whinehouse - Back in Black (CD)
Bought this after hearing the track Rehab just as the chaos and the spiral towards celebrity hell was beginning. If we just focus on the music it is a magnificent piece of work lyrically raw and that voice. Now I cannot listen to it at all. Too much pain and it left me feeling if this is what love is I do not want it. A true classic.
Best Track. Back to Black.

Ah ...Yes, Jazz Cigarettes ... Not a fan if Amy Winehead I`m afraid . And after seeing her completely legless on Glasto , that put the ol` cap on the empty bottle ..
A few to do
Unrest - Henry Cow ( 1974 ) Via You Tube
To describe this is`nt easy , but at best it`s a poor man`s Crimson If you like your Music all over the place , this is for you . Stand Out Track N/A
Spirit Of Eden - Talk Talk ( 1988 ) Via You Tube
As above Steven Wilson`s latest album was inspired by this album and a few more from the 80`s This as, I said on Henry Cow , its hard to put your finger on it Art Rock ? Anyway , this album needs a fair few repeat listenings as this could be a unheard gem Stand Out Track N/A
Turbulant Indigo - Joni Mitchell ( 1994 )
It`s been a very long time since I put this on .. Beautiful . For an artist well into her then 30th year of a career , this sounds as fresh as Hejira from the 70`s sounds today It won a Grammy and well deserved in my humble

Blow By Blow - Jeff Beck (1975) Via You Tube
What is it with Jeff ? This man is a great guitarist , no question , some say a Legend But when it comes down to his Solo stuff ( barring Truth ) they are very average and dare I say it , boring And this one is not much different He covers the Fab`s She`s A Woman and that is terrible and with the Vocoder doing the round on it doe`snt help in the least I went to see Beck around about 1983 ish and I was`nt impressed then But Jeff Beck on other artists album is bloody brilliant ! I`ll just stick to Truth ,for that is indeed a masterpiece and up there with my all time fav`s Stand Out Track Constipated Duck

Starcastle - Starcastle (1976) Via You Tube
If it`s not Anderson , it`s not Yes ! It`s incredible that our George got sued for My Sweet Lord If you just have a listen to this album and wonder how the hell this band did`nt get sued is mind blowing ! This whole album is a Yes album but slightly changed in places Anyway ... If you like Prog and never heard Yes , it`s a nice album , and I know Amadeus will really love this album for sure I can`t really type anything on this album that has`nt got Yes in mind It`s Yes ! but no Jon I`m going Stand Out Track All of them , and they all sound like ...Yes !

God that was silly . People ! You wont believe how many new albums I`ve got lined up and the thing is they are all bands I`ve never listened too I`m excited .. Really .

Sure will Pothos Molly Hatchet - Molly Hatchet (1978) Via You Tube Always remember mate mate who was heavily into Southern Rock bands and had the T.Shirt of this Molly Hatchet band and as much as I liked Skynyrd`s Free Bird it was`nt for me So here we are 40 years on from when it came out And it`s still not for me Good album , but I like my albums with at least one track that deviates from the "Status Quo" and this one did`nt Stand Out Track N/A . Robert Jon & The Wreck - Robert Jon & The Wreck (2018) Via You Tube A new band , and a debut album Nice and easy MOR rock album , and it`s an ok album with nothing special then the track Witchcraft pops up Really liked that one Very Radio friendly though and almost becomes Bryan Adams , not for me I`m afraid Stand Out Track Witchcraft 165 164

Rising - Rainbow (1976)
Never bought this back in the day and I have to say that`s my loss With Blackmore leaving maybe the 2nd best Rock band on the planet in the early 70`s and comes up with an album like this ! Absolutely up there as one of the best Rock metal without doubt and only has one of the best Rock tracks ever Stargazer , a perfect Rock anthem My bag for getting the best of Rainbow . Stand Out Track Stargazer

Quatermass - Quatermass (1970) Via You Tube
It`s prog again folks And some , enjoyed this from the off , it`s hard to believe this English band made just this one studio album . If you like your E.L.P. this for you and a heavier than you think It`s a great album and I will be playing this a lot more for sure Ritchie Blackmore covered a track off this album on Rainbow`s debut album Stand Out Track All great tracks but the bonus One Blind Mice is fantastic !

The Strands Of Future - Puslar (1976) via You Tube
It`s Prog again and it`s a French band who must of loved Floyd , Tangerine Dream they formed a band It`s not bad apart from when the french fella tries very poorly a Dave Gilmour impression The first side track is really good and it`s 20 mins long to boot , then the album goes a low Prog average But I`m sure this is an album with the strength of the first track is worth a listen
From Silence To Nowhere - Wobbler (2017) Via You Tube
Wobbler ? , no I`ve never heard of them either and it`ll be the last time Prog , in that early Genesis and Gentle Giant Canterbury style and it`s awful And yes folks I played it all the way through .

Phantom of the Opera - BBC Radio 4 audio (CD)
Not the musical no a really dark twisted version of the original novel. Forget your preconceptions a horror story of dead flesh and an iron tree that scares the hell out of me. The novel would have made a great prog LP.
Dark and very very scary.

Lennon Legend - The Best of John Lennon. (CD)
I got this about 20 years ago. It is strange to listen to his solo work. Obviously the shadow of The Beatles hangs over the solo work of all the ex members but you get the feeling John had so much to say. Interesting that even though he was out of commission for a few year he came back with Starting Over: a cracker of a single and even through my punk/new wave ears I love the song, purchased it on released and sobbed as he left the world far too soon without even understanding the huge legacy The Beatles had created.
I think it is a great best of to start with.
Best Track. Jealous Guy / Stand By Me or Starting Over. But to be fare there are great tracks on this CD.
Our life together, is so precious together.

I never bought that ..
Ok fans of the Metal it`s on . I`ve been giving it head banging`s and all that and looking at flying V`s and even pondered on a Def Leopard album .. But here is a few to start with
Mob Rules - Black Sabbath (1981)
I love Sabbath , but the trouble is it`s tough to get round the fact that Ozzy was`nt the only Singer And as just got into the band Ozzy was kicked out , so enter Ronnie James Dio So as you may have guessed (or not ) I stopped buying Sabbath albums Anyway as time has rolled on and Music is`nt like it use to be I`ve been getting albums that I missed the first time around The album ? It`s as you would expect , that New Wave of Metal that was all the rage back then Standard Metal tracks , not anything like the old Sabbath and it`s safe Metal Not a patch on Heaven And Hell and you can guess that it was see you later with Dio Stand Out Track Mob Rules
Sciences - Sleep (2018)
Stoner rock legends Sleep are back after about 18 years and yes folks It`s the same as the last album (Dopesmoker which is class ) Yep not much to say about this album and it takes the last track to really stand out Stand Out Track The Botanist
Force It - UFO (1975)
When I was listening to this on me ol` I Pod I was thinking that , this is an early 1980`s album and low ! It`s 1975 ! So I guess this album is is a trail blazer for the future of heavy metal bands n that , which when I think of it heavy metal was invented back in 1970 by the bloody brilliant Black Sabbath , Black Sabbath album . As for the album , as I try not to digress as I do It`s a steady under 5 minutes Rock metal tracks (bar one ) Not rocked of my socks unlike the early UFO albums which are superb Stand Out Track Too Much Of Nothing
