All things Wings thread . Hope we have some Wings fans on here who can talk of Macca`s band The Beatles could have been .
My first time I ever heard Wings was at a fair ( I think it was the Waltzers ) they were playing Helen Wheels I had to buy it ! When I did finally had the money (a lot of lead collecting in those days )to buy it I got it home and it just happen to have the same label and name of a certain P. McCartney of my very first record I owned which was Hey Jude . It was rocketed from then on and of course not soon after my first Wings album came out Band On The Run .
The first Wings song I knowingly heard was Band On The Run. The first Wings album I owned was London Town. Still love that one, except for Girlfriend. I found Wild Life and Red Rose.. a bit spotty but I certainly adore Mumbo and Wild Life. And I have every Macca album except Broadstreet. Although this is about Wings innit.
Friend: My favorite Beatles song is Band On The Run. Me: It's not a Beatles song. Friend: Wot! That guy, that guy, Paul McCartney sings it right? Me: Yes. Friend: Alright! That one is my favorite Beatle song.
Yes it`s Wings ! Imagine though if Ram was the first Wings album ! Anyway ..
I did like London Town at the time , it had a nice feel to it . Funny that Wings were a recording "band" almost the same amount of time as The Beatles .
I know I was 2 years short of following Wings form the off , but it did`nt half fly by . ( no pun intended) Just think of those original Beatle fans horror when they split after only 8 years of recording !
Wings Wild Life The first Wings album as we all know . I like it , at the time of buying it I liked it a lot I read way back that Macca heard of Dylan doing an album in a week , so he took it on to try and do the same It`s rough and ready and even has a cover song on it ! Mumbo It`s a crackin rocker and I could never get my head round why Macca did`nt make more good ol`Rock tunes . Take The Mess for example what a tune that is and it was only a B- Side and a live track at that !
Bip Bop is an odd one , but he has done a lot worse .
Love Strange I never even took notice of the fact it was a cover as I remember ... Wild Life . Oh ! what a great tune ! Macca`s singing for me at his finest ( along with Nineteen Hundred and Eighty Five )
Some People Never Know . Like this one . Macca and Linda dueting away about there relationship I guess . Do really think this one that went under the radar . Love it .
I Am Your Singer Linda goe`s for it . Bless .
Bip Bop Link A little ditty that Macca always seems to throw in his albums
Tomorrow Macca n Lin`s going on a picnic ... Tomorrow
Dear Friend . Another great tune . Very basic song and I always think Macca was at his best when he was`nt over doing songs ( most of Back To The Egg )
Mumbo Link How feckin ace is this just under a minute track is ...I just wished he`d feckin strung it out for about 10 minutes ..
Anyway that`s what I think of Wild Life I remember I had Band , Ram and Red Rose in the bank before I got hold of this one and I was`nt disappointed
I know ! , but I will let someone else have a crack .
Tis true I don`t do Reviews .
But I would like to do Wings one`s as they are like really my first "Album" band and if anything I hope I can lure people into trying the albums if they have never got round to hearing , which on here is very doubtful , but you never know . Also from B.O.T.R. I bought them as they came out , so I think I can really give a good review of the albums Unlike The Beatles albums I think a million and more reviews have been written . I wonder how many Red Rose reviews there are ?
I would`nt really say they will be great reviews , I will just be putting down stuff that`s just off the top off my head . Tomorrow . A song about a picnic would`nt really have people down loading it on I Tunes would it .
Also . I have a lot of Wings memorabilia I would love to show off and hey ! I was in The Wings Fun Club .
Fiendish Thingy: Thanks Bobber. I'm good thanks. Quiet on here for the last few months. I see Al has gone all 'Facebook' and is attracting new members. No bad thing. Are you going to the annual Beatleweek in Liverpool this year? Not long now 10 weeks or so. See you there?

Amadeus: Hey all. Not been frequenting here very much lately. Between burying people, helping sick people and feeling crap myself, Me and Mrs. A. have been weighed under. Hoping to get a bit more out of that rut so I can focus back on the fun things I used to focus
