Listened to a staggering comment on the radio today on the topic of why we have only one semi regular music show in the UK. Apparently the powers that be right across UK TV have done all these research pieces and have found that there is no audience for them.
I cannot get my head around this. Music shows not relevant today.

They only think in terms of who's popular (I think) and the audience for that kind of music isn't interested in music programs. They're interested in youtube and twitter.

The only regular Uk music show I can think of is 'Later...with Jools Holland', which regularly welcomes legendary guests and tends to shy away from mainstream music, I shudder to think what 'Top of the Pops' would be like these days.

It is a sad state today for Music programs . Sky Arts at least show some great stuff now and again
