HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE - I hope you all had a brilliant Christmas and that 2015 will be an even better year for you all!
I’m not sure if this has been mentioned on here yet but the Beatles’ 1964 unreleased recordings all slipped out of copyright yesterday, which now means anyone can put out unreleased songs the Beatles performed and recorded during 1964, including BBC tracks, live performances, TV shows etc. so expect the market (i.e. Amazon!) to be flooded with sub-standard Beatles products any day now! The reason for this is because the fifty year copyright expired at midnight on New Years Eve, and as there was no “soft release” of unreleased tracks like there was on iTunes with last year’s “The Beatles Bootleg Recordings 1963” this now leaves the way clear for a slew of new CD releases. But judging by the very patchy release of tracks that slipped out of copyright last year (for example, Love Me Do, PS I Love You plus various outtakes, notably from the From Me To You sessions), not all of these new releases will be of a particularly good standard.
I really don’t understand how or why Apple let this happen seeing as it was very well known that Bob Dylan and The Beach Boys were both releasing a great number of songs just before Christmas with the sole aim of rebooting their copyright.
Here is a list of tracks we could be seeing over the coming months:

Anyway... rant over... oh and by the way, the “The Beatles Bootleg Recordings 1963” is currently £19.99 on iTunes (£13 off!) – that’s 59 fab tracks!
