Well I found out. The story goes that John & Yoko were alone down in Ringo's basement when they took the picture. John used a delayed shutter on the camera to take the picture. So who is the third person? Years later the picture of John & Yoko standing with the poster to the side was taken. And finally someone asked Yoko who was the third person in the poster picture. Yoko said, "John received the poster in the mail from some professor who had taken a picture of himself and superimposed it onto the picture of us." She has no clue where the poster is today.

That's right Rocky. I believe John phoned Tony Bramwell to come round with a camera with a delay on it. Apparently Tony was into a bit of photography. He showed john how to work it and then left them to it without knowing what sort of photos where going to be taken. He said John was acting a bit shifty! John then asked Tony to get them developed descretly. Tony still didn't know what they where until he got them developed.
All Sir Joseph Lockwood, head of EMI, could say was 'why couldn't it be Paul? He's much more attractive!'
