One of the great songs of AM radio in the late 60s - love the organ, and that harmony " ... man after him waits here ..."!
I went to youtube, and couldn't find an original recording ... seems it's been taken down for some silly reason ...
Can anybody find an original recording to post?
Thanks!

Just to add a little bit to the discussion (rather than just requesting!), I looked up ... there was apparently a "Dutch Invasion" in 1969/1970!! There were 3 Dutch groups - The Tee Set (Ma Belle Amie), The Shocking Blue (Venus!!), and a group that I frankly don't remember called the Baker George Selection with a song called "Little Green Bag". They were apparently all "discovered" and signed by one guy - Jerry Ross, and released on his Colossus label. Sort of a Netherlands version of Brian Epstein (in a small way - his "stable" only yielded 3 hits? ... but the two I remember (Ma Belle Amie, and Venus) were AWESOME!!). The guy definitely had an eye/ear for talent!! What is it about a certain song that makes it so good? What is that that makes someone be able to write a fantastic song once, but not twice, or not everytime?

The George Baker Selection scored another world wide hit a couple of years later with Una Paloma Blanca. Little Green Bag was later used in Pulp Fiction and became a hit once more. You were forgetting about The Golden Earring, who scored a hit with Radar Love in the early 70's as well.

As a matter of fact they still excist and are still on the road. "No more speed, I'm almost there "! Somehow, that slipped by the retentive AM radio censors in the states in the early 70's. Well done

Is the Tee Set gone forever?

Hi Alexis I think the file is dead that the player is trying to link to - unfortunately the hosting sites, that we use to upload the audio to, delete all files if the account hasn't accessed for 25 days. So in short, the audio file has probably been removed.

I love "Little Green Bag" but I had no idea who it was by so thanks for the helpful posts. I also loved "Ma Belle Amie". When I was a kid I thought it was a McCartney song. And big thanks to alexis for posting that great video clip.

Tee Set's singer Peter Tetteroo died seven years ago. Keyboard player Hans van Eijk composed a lot of TV-tunes later and was a member of a jury in a talentshow. Ma Belle Amie was Tee Set's greatest hit, She Likes Weeds was another big one over here.
