Well I'm sure Brian heard of the Beatles before the Cavern incident. He may even have been at St. John's Club in July,1961. The Beatles performed there on Thursdays, 13th-20th-27th with other groups, and Brian may have just went there for a night out. The Beatles use to go into his record store and he could have spotted them there too, but never talked to them. Brian also sold the Merseybeat mag in his store and ran ads in the mag so I'm sure he seen them in there too. And he ordered the My Bonnie record on Oct. 28th,1961. So he was well aware of them before the Cavern episode, but The Cavern Club Episode of Nov. 9th,1961, is the first time he actually went out of his way to watch them perform. Heck he may even have bumped into John, Paul, George and later Ringo on the streets of Liverpool in 1957, but nobody knew who the other person was.
