Well basically I've heard a few people bash this album or show very little interest in it. Personally I like it when I want to mix things up a little but by no means prefer it to the original music. So my questions kinda are: do many of you like the album, did you even bother to buy it for your collections and do you even should it have even been released? Any opinions would be great.

I happen to like it. For the most part, I do prefer the original music. Most people on this forum have indeed tended to bash the album, but hey, it's the Beatles. What's not to like? (Somebody will more than likely answer this otherwise rhetorical question.)
I do like the way "Within You Without You" sounds with the drums track from "Tomorrow Never Knows" tacked on. Not real fond of the extra rests put into the a cappella version of "Sun King."
Occasionally, I will play the DVD-audio disk on my surround-sound audio system.

Not me. I like it. It's an experiment and some things come off really well. I particularly like the combination of Drive My Car and What Your Doing. Of Course the amalgamation of Tomorrow Never Knows and Within You and Without You is amazing. It's just a different way of presenting the songs and who better to present it than George Martin and his son.
I don't believe there are that many people around here who dislike the album.

I think it is an absoulutley brilliant album . It is well worthy to be put along side the Beatle output . I never thought that I`d ever be around to even think that an album could come close to the greatness of the Beatle legacy . It was really nice to be proved wrong

I think it's great. I got the surround sound version as well. I think the last person who really bashed this album lately has recently been banned from the forum for unseemly behavior. Gerry Adams or something was his name?

For me, I think it is fine that they released it and I also include it for my collections. But I still really like the original one though..

I don't know why, but I thought the majority of Forum members would've bashed this release... I'm quite pleased most people approve as I think 'Love' is an excellent album and one that I find myself playing quite often...

I generally like it .The only thing that is annoying is the timing on "Because" if you sing along you come in in the wrong place the voices only version on the Anthology is fine and I can't understand why the silent bits have had the timing changed other than that it's a good listen especially in the car.

To be honest thiswan, I haven't noticed the timing changes at all from the Anthology version to the Love version. I can sing along to it in the car, or wherever and still come in at the same time as the boys! It would be interesting if someone could 'scientifically' compare the versions and verify (or not) what you're saying?

The Love version is slower compared to the Abbey Road and also Anthology versions. This may account for the timing issues.

I like it 'cause it's got Beatles songs on it! Seriously I love hearing mashed songs mixed together, I think it's great! A little off topic, but here is a great mash, and wish I knew how to download the audio:

I stand corrected after a year. It was "Because" that had the extra rests inserted, not "Sun King." I'll have to listen to it again. I don't think it's slower. It just takes longer because of the extra rests that were inserted.

I went to see the 'Love' show at The Mirage in Vegas for my honeymoon last year. One of the best pieces of live entertainment I've seen in my life. By the end I was literally moved to tears. Absolutely phenomenal. To hear those voices and tunes through a world class sound system in an arena was breathtaking. The visuals were pretty spectacular but its all about the music for me.

I brought this up when the Roscoe Remasters were posted recently. A critical listen to the Love versions of Something & Help will reveal that the bass distortion during the mid 8's of both of these tracks has been mixed out. This is exactly what I corrected with the RR version of these tracks. Why the uncorrected, prev versions were used again for the 09's I do not know.

I'm not a huge fan of this album, I only really bought it because I have seen the Cirque du soliel show a couple of times. I don't like the changing of key of the blackbird instrumental to fit in with yesterday, or adding the drums from 'The End' to the beginning of Get Back. Seems a bit like bastardising the music to me.

I think it's a fantastic album. The first time i heard it was when it was played on Gold(capital gold). I go to bed and listen to gold on my radio alarm for around 15 mins before I go to sleep.Listening to the songs I was perplexed that the songs were slightly different as they went into another song, is this from the Anthology that i had but hadn't played for a while, as another great song came in, I thought this is amazing before it clicked, this was from Love. I'm a habitual "jazz cigarette" smoker but never smoke in my bedroom, however this was the exception to the rule that had to be broken. I rushed to my living room to make a spliff and got back in bed to maximise my enjoyment of this amazing album. Luckily it played i think all of the first side, wish i'd went to bed earlier and caught the whole thing. I ended up of course buying the CD and the dvd of the making of. I'm envious of the people who've seen the show as every seat has speakers. Unfortunately they cannot bring the show over here as the venue is purpose built, they'd have to build a venue here . If they build we will come.

I personally love the album. I remember hearing their version of Here Comes The Sun and being blown away by the Indian music bit at the beginning. It really fit in well with the song. I found the other tracks the same way as well. Different but blended together nicely so it all fits together. Quick question has anyone seen the Love show is Vegas and what did you think of the show?
