I found out about the recent Buddy Holly tribute albums by accident. "Listen to Me" and "Rave On Buddy Holly."
Perhaps it is time for a new movie to generate interest in him again. That 1978 film was widely panned for getting so many facts wrong, which encouraged McCartney to produce The Real Buddy Holly Story.

I recommend whole-heartedly the 'Buddy Holly - Definitive Story' DVD. If you can track down the 2005 version you get a CD and a 14-song jukebox feature on the DVD as well. With every day that passes, Buddy's back catalogue gets better and better, and it sounds more contemporary than it did 30 years ago. Indeed, acts whose careers have come and gone since 1959 often sound much more dated!

Thanks for that info. I appreciate it. I have been a fan of Buddy Holly my whole life, and yet I still come across little treasures once and awhile that blow me away, such as LOVE IS STRANGE (partially written by Bo Diddley) and DEAREST , which, thanks to the movie JUNO, got some recent attention.
