I don't want this to come across as being overly critical. My observations are not aimed at the 'Experts' so please don't take this post as a personal dig at anyone. As you know, only 'Experts' can respond to threads that find their way onto the 'Ask The Experts' board.
I have noticed for a while now that the majority of the questions directed to the 'Experts' are not being answered or addressed. Some are over a year old, for example, the post from gasco 1 on February 18th 2012 about a large photo of The Beatles that was shown to him/her by a friend. I appreciate that the 'Experts' will not know the answer to every question but gasco 1 posted twice only and has never contributed to the Forum since. Also, on November 7th last year, the user paulmemaybe asked a question about a Sgt Pepper Marble Blue Vinyl disc that he bought in London. He posted 3 times. Maybe if someone (not just the 'Experts') had known about it and replied to him, he may have stayed around for a while longer.
The reason I'm posting this is because, last week on May 18th thegent asked a question about Albert Marrion Pics and I did some research which I thought was quite productive. Only I couldn't reply direct to thegent so, in a convoluted way, I posted THIS.
I know there's a sub board on 'Ask The Experts' titled 'Open Questions - Your Comments' but I'm a little puzzled and confused about the procedure here. I've noticed that some threads have been officially moved from 'Ask The Experts' to 'Open Questions - Your Comments'. These are mainly the ones that have generated the most answers and discussion. If there's an easy way for a non expert to answer someone's questions directed to the 'Experts', then that would make things a lot easier. I have to say that I've always questioned why there should be a dedicated board where only certain people can respond to questions? Is there actually a need for such a board, especially when it's not entirely fulfilling it's purpose?
Anyway, enough of this. Maybe someone can enlighten me? As I said at the top of this thread, this is in no way, shape or form designed as having a go at the official moderators/experts of the Forum. You can't be expected to know absolutely everything Beatle related. You all do a good job here.
