He was very helpful and explained about grading both the vinyl and the covers, ie mint, excellent, very good and good. He also said that 'Greatest Hits' stuff are of negligible value. He asked if I could grade each of my albums and what condition any 'inserts' or posters were in and (here's the crunch) what price figure I was aiming for. He also said that, although he mainly deals in 60s and 70s albums, he would consider a deal on my entire collectiion. He finally asked what area I live in to see if it was feasible for him to collect in person if we do come to an agreement. I haven't got back to him yet but I will. It will be very time consuming (I know, I know - you only get out of it what you put into it) grading all those albums but my main problem is valuing the entire collection because I have what I consider to be 'valuable' albums. I've seen original Beatles albums in very good condition at record fairs sell for £45 plus. I have a very good and original copy of the Magical Mystery Tour EP together with the booklet and I've seen such copies sell for £35 plus So there you have it. My first stop might be to start buying 'Record Collector' and also use the internet (Ebay etc) to see how much individual albums are selling for. Hey ho

Yep all seems fair enough - glad he managed to provide some guidance. One thing to bear in mind though, Andy is a record dealer so he will more than likely not pay the same prices you'd expect to see at record fairs or in Record Collector, simply because it is his business and he has to make money. But to be honest, he is one of the most ethical dealers I have ever met! Hope all goes well whatever you decide to do
