I wonder if any of you brainy types on this board can help with regards to my player on my very old computer? I am running windows ME, and I can not play the Walkers songs on this board, how can I get round this please? I have tried to up-date my player (I think it's 9) but there is no up-date available. So if you can help I will be very grateful.

Hi Ron. I'm not sure what you mean by the 'Walkers songs', but you could try a different player. I've found VLC to be extremely reliable. I have not so far (3 years) come across a single file (audio or video) that it couldn't play. Give it a try. www.videolan.org/vlc/

I'm not a PC user, or an IE user, but there may be something in your browsers preferences that asks to configure how it handles certain files. Try to change the media player associated with them.
Can you listen to any other audio files on this site?
I enjoyed the Walkers stuff. Is that really your Dad on drums Al?

Yes but not all, there are even some songs on my website I can't play, ronryanmusic.com it plays some, not others, most odd. And I don't have a clue how you go about changing my player!!

Yes that's Allan's Dad Roy on drums, not only a very good player but a great bloke!! I had at one time or another 'ups and downs' with the other members of the Band, but not Roy, it was a pleasure to work with him, and I am not just saying that because he is Al' Dad.

VLC only works as a "stand alone" player so it wont help with songs that you play in a webpage, i.e. on an "embedded" audio player.
Do you happen to know what version of Windows you're running?

I recognize Ron's problem as there's plugins that the browser does not know. Especially songs posted by Alan seem to be a problem. It's Mozilla Firefox that is not doing very well on this point.

Ah, so it's my fault now!!! LOL I noticed some members couldn't play some of the tracks so I only post mp3 files now, which seem to work fine in Firefox, on my Mac anyway. Do those tracks by The Walkers play OK on your computer Cor?

Not in Firefox. I'll check IE.

IE reads them properly. Maybe that's where Ron's problem is based as well. It's IE 7.

I wonder why Firefox wont play them - very strange, especially as Firefox plays them on my Mac!

I'll try a modern version of Firefox one of these days.
