Nice one BMP ( Lieutenant Commander! ) I remember at the time of the second reboot film that there were rumours of bringing back a character from the Orig. Series . That episode was the one I had in mind . Of course they went with Khan . Are you (or anyone ?) a fan of the re boot movies ? or watched them yet ? Yeah I've watched both the reboot movies Mr Kite, I particularly enjoyed the first one which I thought was excellent but watched the 'Into Darkness' one the other night and didn't know what to make of it, I'll watch it again soon and see what I think of it then. Karl Urban who plays Dr McCoy in the films is also in another decent sci-fi movie which I was surprised that I enjoyed as I think it got poor reviews when it was first released, anyways the film is 'Dredd'....anyone seen it?

Yeh the first was a great film . The second I unfortunately watched in 3D and it was all blurred in the fast action scenes . Second time around at home it was very enjoyable !
Judge Dredd Really enjoyed this film ! As you say BMP it did`nt get a great reception . What do critics know . Urban did a great job as Dread and I think it got across the Character in the gritty Comics .
Another Sci Fi film that got poor reviews was Oblivion . It has borrowed bits from other Sci Fi films , but want film these days has`nt ? I thought it was brilliant !

Yesterday I perused an online list of 100 greatest Sci-fi films. While I've seen a large chunk of the films on the list there are a few on there that I haven't watched and have marked down for, if you'd pardon the pun, future viewing!!! They are;
City of Lost Children (1995) Serenity (2005) The Fountain (2006) Stalker (1979) Dreamscape (1984) Cube (2006) Outland (1981) Darkstar (1974) Ikarie XB-1 (1963) Alphaville (1965) THX-1138 (1971) Repo man (1984) Brazil (1985) Sunshine (2007) Metropolis (1927)
....anyone any thoughts on these or others worth a watch?!

City of Lost Children (1995) I watched about 10 minutes of it . Not my cuppa . Half Directed by that French fella who Did Alien Ressurection, Which was good up to the Alien baby bit ... Silly Ikarie XB-1 (1963) Never heard of it ! Alphaville (1965) Never heard of it ! THX-1138 (1971) Ah , now this one I have seen , It`s Mr Star Wars is for kids Lucas It`s very long and very boring , kinda like the rest of his career Repo man (1984) Seen this , at the time it was a bit of a Sci Fi cult film , It`s ok but I bet its dated to hell now . Also seen the remake , which is bugger all as the original as I remember . Not bad though Brazil (1985) Now we are talkin about the brilliant crazy world of Terry Gillian . It`s a good film , but not as great as people make out , I know I have the film and try it now and again But you must (if not already ) watch Gillians Sci Fi Masterpiece 12 Monkeys . Sunshine (2007) Briliant . A kinda 2001 meets erm .. It`s brilliant anyway , as Ive said Metropolis (1927) Maybe the first Sci Fi film ever made . I love all Sci Fi New and old but you really got to be in the mood for this baby . ....anyone any thoughts on these or others worth a watch?! Hope that helped . Here is a few I really like . Matrix . Everyone must have seen this now ?If not , you need to ASAP . Contact . One of my very fav`s , its Sci Fi that tunes into everything I love about Sci Fi(And Jodi`s in it ) Gattaca Brilliant Noir whats it film . This is a film that has a different look on the future with 1930`s gear on , anyway Uma`s in it ! Inception . Chris Nolan . Enough said . The Book Of Eli . Now this is a film ! Great post apoclyspe Sci Fi , I have seen this film 3 times now , still love it . And Denzels in it ! Thats just a few of my many Fav Sci Fi`s .

Discrict 9 . Another great Sci Fi film , and if you like this then Elysium. It`s the same people and maybe the same feel but it`s brilliant . The Day The Earth Stood Still. The Orig. One of my all time fav films , just maybe the first film that gave Sci Fi films credit for the great story and it has a question on how mankind tries it`s best to destroy himself . Spaceship lands on Earth and Man shoots at it . Shoot the occupant . The Thing . Brilliant , one of my all timers . If you hav`nt seen this , where the hell have you been ! (remake kinda is not bad either ) Terminators . All good . I`ll Be Back . Scully .

I must admit that it would be quite cool to walk around one of these conventions but the thing I'm struggling with here is the fact that you have to pay a "Celebrity" X amount of money in return for his or her autograph. Not picking on anyone in particular here but your Spidey senses might tell you you're being fleeced when you find out a Stan Lee scribble will set you back £45. However, Mr Lee's fee seems small in comparison to that of Ian McDiarmid of Star Wars fame who'll take you to the dark side, in that once you've paid the £75 requested for his signature you won't be able to pay your electricity bill at home!!! I bet you don't have to pay those extortionate prices at the Wigan comic con wigancomiccon.co.uk/wigan-comic-con-tickets.asp
