I think they have pulled off one of the best double bluffs ever. I have watched Dr Who for decades and no one seems to have noticed the strategically placed photograph relevant to a character who left 45 plus years ago in the opening episode of this season.
I think all will become clear with the full episode at Christmas.

The passing of actor Martin Landau on Sat. 15th at the age of 89. In movies like Hitchcock's 'North by Northwest' and TV series 'Mission Impossible'. But since this is a sci-fi thread he also appeared in the tv series 'Space 1999'. R I P Martin

Anyone seen the new Blade Runner yet ? Simply brilliant in my humble When you think that their is no way that another film would have the same feel and impact like Blade Runner has had over the last 30 years then you think again once you see this fantastic Sci Fi masterpiece Just in case you have any doubts ..

Lovely topic choice! I' am a huge sci fi fan too. My mom would watch shows and movies growing up all the time.
I prefer Ridley Scott's Alien than Blade Runner but I do enjoy Harrison Ford.

Think we talked about Blade Runner 2049 at Beatleweek Mr K. It's a great movie which gets better with each watch. I re-read some of my earlier posts on this thread regarding the sequel, and I'm happy to say I was wrong, it's a beautiful thing.

I was in the same frame as you as in re doing a film like Bladerunner But I do love it ! I also mentioned Predestination and Time Lapse , you must give them a go . I have another I really enjoyed is Upgrade An indie Sci Fi with a plot that is very predictable , but it`s a fantastic Sci Fi romp ! I did`nt watch all Orville , I lost interest Watched all Maniac though ! Once you get passed the first episode it gets really interesting and it`s almost like The Prisoner for the 00`s I will post some more when I remember them ( I`m old )

Hello fellow Scifier ! * I revisited an old favorite tonight . The Day The Earth Stood Still 1951 This film is one film I saw as a wee lad and I always think it`s the reason why I got into Sci Fi as much I did over the years . Back in the day when we had only 3 channels and when they showed old classics like this you had to watch them . They got ingrained into you and stayed with you even though like today you could`nt just stream it , buy it , or rent it . You kept them in your head and they became old friends that you always made sure you saw them . So what makes it such a great film you ask . When I`ll try and tell you . First of all it`s directed by the brilliant Robert Wise , who so happened Directed another all timer of mine The Haunting (1963) and many more great films It has that almost documentary feel as so many films today go for , to give it "on the street " as for me one of the magic shots is when our man from space goes with the young lad to go and look at the space ship . Another wonderful part is him at the Lincoln memorial , as he finds out that not all humans have this shoot on sight policy by the world leaders he is faced with . The whole idea of the film is just giving the human race a warning that it is heading towards destruction and as the Space man says , you can wipe yourself`s out but don`t be bringing it into the rest of the universe as that will end up with the galactic police doing for you Yes , I`m waffling again But if you hav`nt seen this masterpiece then give it a go And remember Klaatu Barada Nikto * It`s a word !

Hello !
Well then , I just was wondering if there is any Stranger Things fans out there ?
I am !
It`s a shame that we can`t really talk about shows as it spoils it for people who hav`nt or got round to watching it yet . But we are already getting a trailer for season 4 !

Hello !
So much I have not put up on here I`ve watched lately in the Sci Fi world .
Raised By Wolves . Heck I enjoyed that . Ridley Scott had his hand in it and directs the 1st episode , so you can guess it`s a good series if he`s got involved .
But I can`t chat about it as that would be a whole spoiler alert kinda deal .
Anyway , if you have seen Contact then you can watch Dr. Becky an astrophysicist give her reaction to the film . Science meets Sci Fi . Yes there are spoilers !

Hello reader ! Gee , I really miss having a right good debate about the wonderful world of Sci Fi . But in the world where if you missed a film at the cinema , you can stream it when ever the hell you want . So chat about a new movie is bloomin` tricky as it`s spoilers this and I`ve not seen it yet kinda thing .
But I`m excited for the next few months as we are getting Dune , the remake , and Matrix .. the remake ?
Any fans of the above ? I am and when I`ve got some time I`m going to waffle about them as I`m sure we`ve seen them by now ? , but in mean time .

I think I saw Dune on TV in the 1980's and it was weird but rather beautiful. Still not sure of the plot but I do recall Dean Stockwell of Quantum Leap fame being in it as was Kyle Maclachlan. The new one looks interesting.
The Matrix looks fascinating and the movie will succeed or fail on the quality of the plot. I adored the first one but not the other two. A always thought Cloud Atlas was an underated movie from the same team.
