Hey thanks Beatles4ever for sharing this! I never knew Freddie had a record out. BTW for anyone who didn't know, Alf died in 1976 at the age of 63.

I knew it existed but had never heard it. He was washing dishes in some hotel in London (I think it was London) and the Beatles appeared on the tele and his work mates said "'ere, is that your boy then?" So he immediately made himself visible and got lots of interviews and this chance to make a Beatles related record and collect a bit of dosh along the way. He hadn't seen John since he was FIVE years old.
Ringo's dad never came out of the woodwork when his boy, who he hadn't seen since he was a toddler, became a Beatle. He respectfully kept quiet and kept his distance, knowing how hypocritical it would be to show up NOW when he left Richie and his mum so long ago.
