Bill Brufords playing on Red, in particular Starless, is anything but machine like. The feel is dripping off the turntable(CD, Ipod etc). I can't let you off with that one! I'm sure you have heard Red but if you haven't please do.
Michael Giles' playing on the 'In The Court Of The Crimson King' album is nothing short of astounding. The title track and 21st Century Schizoid Man is, in my opinion, some of the best drumming ever recorded. I strongly urge you to listen to this album and let me know what you think. A few years I saw Michael Giles along with some other original members of King Crimson play these songs live. It was honestly a jaw-dropping experience.

I've listened to ITCOTCK a couple of times and it just didnt click. Trust me when I say that Ilove prog/psych, but I always found fripp and his band too weird for me. 'Red' I think i've only heard maybe once. Either way, its been years since i've heard them as i'd given up, but now you've got my interest up again. I'll give them another once over soon and see what happens.

Ah, I thought so Regarding the Rolling Stones' "I'm Free", I absolutely love this track but the off-timing always bugged the hell out of me - so I made an edit with the timing fixed! If anyone would like a copy please give me a shout Yeah, post that up Al. I'd love to hear it. Here it is - let me know what you think [music]http://homepage.ntlworld.com/alan.saint2/ImFreemix.mp3[/music]

Ringo is perfect for the Beatles. His drumming is should we say imperfect or human. He drums with feelings unlike other drummers who drums like a machine. wwwbeatles.blogspot.com/

Got an old mate that teaches drums and played on a couple of Steve Vai bands. Insists he can't play the Ringo drumming on "In My Life".
