Yeah this could be me being WAY too big of a Beatle fan, but I was watching the movie Dinner For Schmucks that came out this past summer (Steve Carrell, Paul Rudd, the bearded guy from The Hangover) and the opening credits sequence has "Fool On The Hill" playing. Then throughout the movie it suddenly dawns on me that there is more of a connection to Magical Mystery Tour than just the use of "Fool On The Hill" in terms of the unique characters in the movie. I wonder if that was intentional? Or again it could just be that I'm too big of a Beatle fan and see "connections" even if not exist! = They did butcher, intentionally of course, John's Imagine line about being a dreamer, but not the only one.

Hi Steve!
Interesting theory! I watched the film on Saturday night and apart from being quite a strange movie, I couldn't discern any other links to MMT. Can you point out any other references I may have missed?
Cheers

Can you point out any other references I may have missed? Cheers AL That's all I really had. Just the use of "Fool On The Hill" and the fact that MMT featured unique individuals.

Ah, I see what you mean I must admit it wasn't the usual run-of-the-mill Steve Carrell/Paul Rudd comedies, I enjoyed it though.

I think you need to chill out on the Beatle references stevejrogers Apart from the song Fool On the Hill and the mixed up Imagine line which intended to be comedy that`s it on the Magical M. Tour . Good though Just a little thing that might interest you ..or not as it`s not to do with the Beatles The Film Dark Star was a template for Alien . I don`t even know why I`m telling you this .

Lol - that's a bit random! Yeh , that`s whats I thought . I just had that in my head as an example of a film that had absolutley nothing in common with each other but at the same time everything to do with each other . Let me explain Dark Star . A film about a spaceship in deep space and it`s mission is to blow up unstable planets and the like , and on the ship they have a pet Alien that gets out and causes the destrution of the ship . A very funny film . Alien . A film about a spaceship that is out in deep space and it`s mission is to find minerals and end up picking up an Alien thats cause`s havock and end up causing the destruction of the ship . A brilliant film , and not a bit funny . Schmucks and M.M.T . Not even close
