I can't understand the big fuzz about this. Everything you wanted was available online (tho not officially and/or legal). So what's new? That you got to pay again for your Beatlessongs?

Obviously judging by the way every Beatle album has entered the top 100 again, there are many people that prefer to obtain their downloads via the official methods. And what with all the scare-mongering in the UK (a law firm is lobbying internet providers for details of customer's downloads) plus a lot of providers of erm... "free" content are being systematically closed down or tightly regulated, i.e. Pirate Bay, Limewire, Mininnova etc I guess people are being swayed into paying for downloads.
Plus it's quite a big deal because iTunes was such a huge un-tapped resource for The Beatles catalog. Obviously the vast majority of Beatle fans are not going to re-purchase these downloads but it IS a huge market and some people do prefer to download rather than purchase a hard copy. A sign of the times!
