I recently got in a light argument via YouTube about The Beatles and drugs. Although I think the Beatles would not have produced many of the good songs that they did I do not think we should do drugs because they did. The other person argued that I was "too young to understand," and had no argument other than that. What do you guys think?

I think it is wrong to say that they would have not produced some of the songs without the use of drugs. Sure, lyrics may flow a bit more freely but great music is rarely recorded in a recording studio under the influence of drugs. You have to be disciplined to record take after take and LSD doesn't make you disciplined. Plus the fact George Martin would not have stood for them tripping whilst in the studio. Drugs also don't make you play the guitar better and know more chords. So I still believe they would have still wrote and recorded the songs they did without drugs.
